I use my hedger attachment to clear large sections of overgrown grass. So much less mess and easier to rake up or just leave if you can. Way faster than using a weed eater and a ton safer.

What don you guys pick and choose for quality? Die grinder or a dremel ?

How did you learn to make the proper angle cut on your trimmers? I would be scared that I would mess the angle up or take to much off. I take my stuff to a shop in town that does sharpening and their work is so unbelievable. The sharpness when they are down you will cut your hands just by touching the blade.

A benifit of the flapper blades is they will keep the original angle better than a grinding wheel. Just try and stay as close as the original angle and you should be good.

I over worked mine cutting bricks with it but the good thing is Milwaukee warranties the tool for 5 years.

Dude Milwaukee actually makes an articulating head like that. I gotta get one. Well what I really need is a Milwaukee 3/4 drive impact gun, for when I have to change or sharpen the blades on my chipper.

Daaang dawwg, was just holding by breath at how close you got that spinning wheel to your body. 2:30 as a fabricator ive seen some bad things happen.

Also no gloves makes me cringe. Even when I sharpen my chainsaw I have to make myself put them on. I bet most injuries are dumb like this, I feel like I've seen so many in just 2 years of tree work. We've all done it but no one is safe when they think they are.

Hand file. Dremel mate. You can't get the flap wheel in properly really.

Also on my 75cm HS81 there's a blade guard even the Dremel won't get in on some of the lower teeth. Every ten hours check and top up grease in the gear head. I've wrecked two sets of long reach not regreasing!

I just finished sharpening my HSE 81 today, I removed the blades following the advice of Stihl's dealer, and with enough care I can get the same level of precision I get with a hand file. I use a flat sandpaper n° 100 disc on the grinder's support. This way I could do half of the work in a few minutes only ! The problem with a grinder is that you can only sharpen half of the cutting faces in the correct direction that's rotation toward the edge of the tooth's face (except if you could invert the rotation on your grinder, but I don't think you can do that) ! So I still had to file half of the faces by hand, that's 80+ faces on this model...
