Sharpness to Bristol by Narrowboat 

The first leg of this trip was accompanied with Gloucester Pilot, Carl.
After locking out of Sharpness on a neap tide, passing under the two bridges in the river Severn estuary, and arriving at Portishead, the boat was locked into the marina on the penultimate lock of the tide.
The following day, unaccompanied this time and on our own, we took the boat back into the Severn estuary and entered the river Avon, passing through the Avon Gorge and under Brunel's renowned Clifton Suspension Bridge.
Bristol city docks are accessed via the tidal lock, and visitor moorings provide an excellent view another of Brunel's creations, The SS Great Britain.
