Congress MP Shashi Tharoor and BJP MP Swapan Dasgupta shared their ideas of Hindutva, nationalism authoritarianism and dynasty while speaking at the India Today Conclave 2019.
#ShashiTharoor #SwapanDasgupta
#ConclaveMumbai19
Mumbai will capture the excitement of human potential by presenting thought leaders triggering positive change around the world: people redefining human health; breaking new ground in business practice; space exploration; philanthropy; physical and mental wellness; showbiz; artificial intelligence; and crucially, those working on new ideas in energy and resource management, as well as the economy and job creation.
Mumbai is not just one of India’s most important economic nerve centres but a powerful ideas amplifier. With its unique concentration of money, media, politics, showbiz and social influencers, hosting an ideas conclave in Mumbai has a megaphone effect more than in any other city.
As Maharashtra goes into elections this year, all eyes will be on the State. The India Today Conclave, Mumbai, is perfectly timed to catch that white hot attention.
Come to the Conclave and be a part of its transformational energy.

Dipak Mishra is better, at least in terms of writing. He once wrote; _This batch of writ petitions preferred under Article 32 of the Constitution of India exposits cavil in its quintessential conceptuality and percipient discord between venerated and exalted right of freedom of speech and expression of an individual, exploring manifold and multilayered, limitless, unbounded and unfettered spectrums and the controls, restrictions and constrictions, under the assumed power of 'reasonableness' ingrained in the statutory provisions relating to criminal law to reviver and uphold one's reputation._

Zara dekhiye-We must stop this hate mongering by upper caste Hindus. We must bring about Ambedkar’s and Gandhiji’s freedom struggle 2.0 with some variant of NYAY and rule of law and true constitutional democracy. Supreme Court said demolition was illegal and wrong. I have read 1045 page ruling. However, they were afraid bloodthirsty RSS goons who would go around killing as they did in Feb in Delhi. My Dad was a freedom fighter and a Pol Sc Professor. He passed away at age 96 in March 2020. We lost everything in partition. My grandfather was killed. But we were brought up secular. My parents were so proud of independence throughout their lives. This vengeful, entitled group of Hindus is really hard to stomach. Please give 10-30 minutes of your time. Professor Shanti Swarup, 96, teaches Secularism 101... Various good people are muddying the waters about secularism. In my humble view, conceptually and in very simple terms, secularism was something consciously adopted and accepted by people who were tired of civil war and killing each other. It is why Gandhi, Nehru, Patel, Ambedkar, Maulana Azad pursued it for India even if it was formally added into the constitution later. It is the same with the concept of democracy, and the concepts of liberty, fraternity, equality. The whole idea of a constitution. Secularism was never something, anywhere in the world, that people developed or accepted spontaneously. People accepted it because they were tired of hate and wanted to improve their lives and live in peace. People various religions practice their religions privately. In a new democracy, secularism is supposed to be superimposed on various religious groups so they can live together peacefully within one territory and pursue other objectives such as healthcare, food, education, competing with other powers like China. Why are people in India going down the rabid path of looking for cultural causes of the failure of secularism--this is only going to muddy the water further so we make things worse, not better. We have to create a common vision for India together. Yes, reversing Shah Bano judgment was a big mistake for which we have been paying a heavy, heavy price. But we need to move on towards a more perfect union. This why USA, UK, Australia, etc have pursued secularism and they are also trying to move towards a more perfect union. It is why India chose secularism and we must continue to pursue a more perfect union. It is the crux of the point that my father, Professor Shanti Swarup, was covering in his videos here. The word 'Hindu' is Persian mispronounciation.of Sanskrit 'Sindhu' found in Rigveda. The Persian word meaning defeated or slave. Persian dictionary titled Lughet-e-Kishwari, published in Lucknow in 1964, gives the meaning of the word Hindu as “chor [thief], dakoo [dacoit], raahzan [waylayer], and ghulam [slave].”

Mr. Tharoor was exact and precise in every sense when he said that our fundamentals of the constitution are diverted from the original. We were never the country of one major religion rather read the Constitution again if you haven't paid attention to your schooling days. It's a secular state, equivocal where minorities are dealt with a similar manner like others. A sense of ghettoization is appearing among communities, So let's try our level best and try to put out smokes and end to those who are keenly spreading wrong notions about "HINDUTVA" because it never meant to be "One religion, One county!" P.S.~ Neither Anti-BJP Nor Pro-Congress! Just an Indian by heart.

Dasgupta takes the stance on a more idealistic thought concocted with an agenda of "everything's gonna be better from now on".Mr Tharoor's arguments are more on the practical side. He speaks on the real-time figures and net outcome after 5yrs rule. While a hopeful stance for the future is always better but definitely not at the cost of ignoring the present outcomes.

It looks like you need to see listen both speakers properly to know what I mean now.
@Ahmed-vw3iw
@Ahmed-vw3iw 5 лет назад
@Donnie Darko you are either really stupid Or you trying to prove to me that Bjp/Rss and Modi don't have any communal agenda- even to suggest the latter is really foolish of you to do that because everyone knows including Modi supporters that they want to implement Hindutva rashtra. Rss is anti Muslim clearly and continously spread hate, lies and violence against Muslims. It's like you telling me Nazis were not bad and they didn't promote hatred loll...Human rights international, Amnesty gave declared Rss is Radical Hindu organization who doesn't believe in equal rights and status of Minorities in India. So don't try to fool me here and you get some basic logic in your brain. Modi is a big actor, we know very well he allowed the Riots in 2002 to happen for 3 days because it was a part of polarization campaign of Bjp/Rss politics...Curse of God Almighty is on the Murderers and terrorists irrespective of their religion they claim to follow because no religion allows killing of Innocents

Don't remember the last time when I watched a 40+ mins show in a stretch apart from a OTT content, a political debate would have been the least possibility. Debates of this standard and mutual respect should be more appreciated by the new India. The Indian-public cannot simply blame the government and media for being less accommodative and radically one-sided, because the laters are a sample size of the formers.

Very well said Mr Dasgupta, 1) The constitution is essentially a rule book 2) Its subject to changes and modifications 3) It has been subjected to manipulations and frauds (eg articles 370, 35 A). So, this constitution cannot be sacrosanct, it cannot override the voice of it's people today. So, let's not get over obsessed about this book. The living nation and the strong voices coming from it today are more important than this book.
