My wife and I had registered for a spot at the Shawanaga First Nation Pow Wow as a vendor. We were approved. On the Friday night before the Pow Wow we decided to setup. As we're trying to find a good spot, having called Jodi Baker to figure it out, we're told she's on her way. When she got there she told us we were not allowed to be at the Pow Wow as a vendor. This is the video of the interaction. Jodi at one point was in tears explaining she was told by Healing Centre Executive Director Lisa Geroux who was told by Band Administrator Adam Good who was in turn told by then Chief Wayne Pamajewon and the Council to stop us from setting up as a vendor. We were told to setup at home and wait for people to stop in when they drove past. A subsequent call to Adam Good set us straight. Lisa was less than truthful. He nor Chief and Council had made any statements to that effect. It was all Lisa who had said it. Did she suffer any consequences? Not a single one. She did not get even a slap on the wrist. We set up anyways the next morning. We were put outside of the Pow Wow but some customers came. Many came two or three times for poutine from our Taterz chipstand. My wife and 2 helpers were running the chipstand. At the end of the Pow Wow, one of our helpers went around with Freezies for the kids because of the heat and man did she ever get hell for that by event organizers. About a week later I had an APS cop at my door saying that if I had recorded this incident, it was against the law. It isn't, ask any lawyer. Jodi had said something to the higher ups about me recording. I did not say anything to the cop about it. Welcome to Shawanaga eh.
