So many people that stay in bad relationships cause they try to fix things that can’t be fixed, break up with someone befo the damage it’s too much to recover it’s a mature and hard thing to do
I remember him saying in an interview that he wanted to find a love that will break his heart soo much that he wanted to write a song about it. And this is soo beautiful like it's soo calm and peaceful but heart-wrenchingly painful. Through this, we know that his relationship with Camila was not at all toxic but they had a good non-toxic reason which ended up taking a mature decision. If they are right for each other I wish them to reconsider their relationship again...but whatever is good for them, let them choose.

That’s one thing I like about Music.. It’s where Artists can express feelings/thoughts all from the heart and in that process it helps them get it out and helps the fans relate/get through it to.. Music gives us their vulnerable side (their human side and not their “show” side) I definitely prefer emotional songs to dance music, it’s 100x better
Shawn and Camila know to deal with such emotions with maturity. This song shows sadness but it's still filled with love and respect. And even if I haven't ever been in a relationship, I do know that it would be really hard to break up...

Honestly that's what scares me the most. Most of the songs since he met her, from what he said, where about her. I can't imagine how it must be when he'll have to sing them again live now that they've broken up.
This song to me means something entirely different. I know it’s intended as a break up song but it takes me back to when my son was on the icu when he first was diagnosed with cancer. He had necrosis in his throat from sepsis and was having life threatening bleeds, needing tonnes of blood transfusions. I sat by his side and said if he wanted to go he can go if he needs to. If it will bring him peace and end suffering. Don’t fight just for my advantage. “If you tell me you’re leaving, I’ll make it easy, it’ll be okay. If we can’t stop the bleeding, we don’t have to fix it, we don’t have to stay. I will love you either way”. This validates my emotions so deeply from that time. My sons ok now and still on chemo and it’s looking very good for him. The trauma is still there and this song brings me such comfort. More than a break up song x

I mean im not sure if this is another song about her but i would like to think it is. Im not obsessed about them together bcuz we are all human, life happens. I love how their latest tracks are about moving on positively. Its rare to see singers approaching break up positively. They tend to share the problems and stir drama.
