Season 3, Episode 14, "Truer lies": A pathological liar Ryan (Jonathan Silverman) with a history of lying to the police is suspected of killing his super, and also claims to know about an assassination plot. Shawn is able to figure out that this liar is actually telling the truth, which leads him and Gus to an amnesiac, Tom Lieber (Jared Hillman), and the truth behind the case.

Psych Synopsis: "PSYCH" is a quick-witted dramedy about a young police consultant Shawn Spencer (James Roday, “The Dukes of Hazzard”) who solves crimes with powers of observation so acute that he’s convinced Santa Barbara PD detectives into thinking he's psychic. Raised in Santa Barbara by a family of cops, Shawn possesses uncanny powers of observation honed by his police officer father, Henry, who drilled young Shawn to note even the smallest of details from his surroundings as a way of grooming him for his inevitable career in the family business. Shawn is tongue-in-cheek saying "we all tend to bend the truth now and then" and this is satire, but in reality it doesn't take in account that there are some folks really messed up in the head who will lie that their parents died or about sexual assault or having cancer, etc.

Don’t get involved with or procreate with people with Cluster B personality disorders. Even if they aren’t diagnosed, if they exhibit high toxic or narcissistic traits, that’s a good enough reason to leave despite any history uou may have. PD’s are highly hereditary.

Well my mom and her mom and her sister and my brother all have these cluster b disorders but thankfully me and my children dont. I decided a long time ago that I wasn’t going to continue that cycle of abuse /behavior. But I did marry someone who I suspect might be a covert narcissist but I dont think his behavior was bad enough to classify as NPD. Once I learned about these disorders it became very clear that one side of my family dealt with this. I’m blessed that my dads side are good people and that I take after them. I’m now remarried to a kind, and compassionate man.

Okay, 1) where did it indicate that anyone in this scene has a cluster b disorder? Compulsive lying can be a result of multiple disorders, and that's incredibly insulting to claim that it automatically means someone has a cluster b disorder and 2) you do know that many cluster b disorders are highly treatable, right? 80% of people with bpd don't mean the criteria for an original diagnosis within 2 years of dbt. It's not "never get into a relationship with someone who has a cluster b personality disorder" it's "don't get into a relationship with someone who refuses to seek help for their mental health when struggling, regardless of what disorder they've got" please stop spreading uninformed, dangerous stigma.
