Such a shame even now a few years later still fresh in my mind great welshman and a fellow welshman great man great footballer will never be forgotten rip Gary a true Dragon
Gary speed was the consummate all-rounder..magician of a player/gifted manager/heart of gold/looks that got better with age&hard to meet anyone with a bad word to say about him.Its great that he had so many people who thought the world of him aswel as solid friends like Shay Given who's decent to the very core.R.I.P gary
Remember my club Glasgow Rangers was talk off interest in signing Gary Speed Take it from me EVERY FAN would’ve loved saw Gary in Blue of Rangers .Knew always got honest 100% graft then some from Gary Speed. Model Professional Footballer whom you never saw negative stories in media ,super fit Gary played for as long as could give that honest performance for fans Every Club he graced saw reaction from fans ,scarfs tied ,flower tributes Esp nice touch for Everton ,his boyhood club , to play Welsh anthem & have his father plus old team mates on the pitch True greats are never forgotten Gary Speed you are one of them From all true football lovers , fans from every club RIP.
We often forget that our legends are not machines. The very real and very present nature of human existence can be tough to deal with, and being able to kick a ball straight, or win trophies with a side you assembled, will never change that. My hope is that at least some good came from this. As a Forest fan I had to watch the steady and inevitable decline and passing of Old Big Ed through drink, and its legacy. We are but a fleeting moment, but some moments will be remembered until the end of days. Speedo, you touched the sky. See you on the bounce Trooper.
