I don't think most Muslims realize what a gem we have in SHY and just how much he has influenced contemporary Muslim thought, especially in the west. For me, he really helped me untangle real Islam from the backwards cultural practices I grew up thinking were Islam subhanAllah. He truly inspired me to fall in love with this Deen and I'm so so grateful. I would be lost without it. Decades after first hearing him speak, he is still my favorite Islamic speaker. May Allah Bless Him abundantly, in this life and the Next. Ameen.
I used to put him on a pedestal, until I became wise to the oft-repeated idea that 'every human being's words are subject to acceptance or rejection, except the one in that grave (meaning the Prophet PBUH)". I was shocked when Br Hamza and his sheikh Ibn Bayyah went full Zionist with their unquestioning support for the puppet piratical mafya regime occupying the UAE.
@@DesertVox no one should be put on a pedestal. Everyone is capable of making mistakes or taking a stance on something that doesn't make sense to us. Of course, we're not in his shoes and we don't understand the behind the scenes reasons. I benefit from his work spiritually and intellectually and am not going to abandon that because of one instance I disagree with politically.
Ameen. Shayk Hamza is the epitome of lslamic scholarship, May Allah increase him and make us beneficiaries of his knowledge. The joy, satisfaction and knowledge I get from listening is profound.
Fortunately I remember how was life without a cell phone in my teenage. Alhamdulillah I am fortunate also to live in the time of our great sheikh Hamza Yusuf!
The best blessing from technology is to have the access to wisdom from wise men like shaikh here but very few of us survive the onslaught of garbage that the algo try to bury us in.
Thank you, Sir! I find myself agreeing with your assessment of technology's influences on our lives. I've refused to get a GPS because I reckon it will cause me to lose my ability to navigate using my native intelligence. I've been a passenger in other people's cars where the driver has ignored the voice of the GPS because he or she knew better, and that gave me the insight that I can ignore the "GPS" inside my head when my higher self knows better!
What a wise choice of words! incredible. We shouldn't rapidly implement all these new technologies into the world, rather we should aim for a systematic implementation of inventions while considering all the ethical aspects.
This was amazing! Whenever you listen to SHY, you know that you will always come away with amazing knowledge and perspective! What a great human and what a great scholar he is!
Thank you, Sheikh Hamza Yusuf. May you always shine as the brightest star on today’s Muslim world. May Allah SWT bless the Islamic world with many knowledgeable scholars as yourself.

mashaallah tabarakallah, i dont know who the uploader of this video, i dont have the means to reward you, but hopefully The One God of us will reward you for this beautiful yet powerful message by our beloved shaikh. jazakallah khairan.
SubhanAllah… Allah SWT blessed Hamza Yusuf with such a beautiful knowledge… I will never tire from listening to him and his past talks May Allah SWT grant him great success always Ameen
great research, well worded and emotionally put paper, with a definite and clear question at the end - in olden days, every subject studied had to be together with philosophy, it's what at one time the religious leaders were so powerful, and what Islam demands of us - to think. We have lost that a lot now, by relying on AI - it's something we must all look to protect and preserve. Alhamdulillah we have individuals like the Shaykh to raise awareness and spread knowledge, challenge the current generation, and the next, and the next. Where and how will we put all this knowledge when we see cancel culture, loss of data ever since ancient days when temples, ancient libraries like Alexandria are burnt and destroyed? Now hacked and deleted. We must all do what we can
LOL the Vatican has the Qur'an in its libraries. Some Catholics study them for greater understanding. In my Catholic university, priests encouraged us to study it.
If you think they don't study at the Vatican you are mistaken especially when they are not molesting boys. They have mainly 3 jobs 1, collect as much wealth as possible 2, molest boys and 3, study.
It's nice to hear something from our beloved sheikh HY that isn't anti-meat / anti-male. A more balanced approach in his talks is definitely more "sunnah - like". jAk
There are lots of intellectuals in the umma. But I can't think of anyone better, who could represent the muslim umma, at this forum. ALLAH prolonge his life and bless us more with such a intellectuals. Ameen
Remember always to seek, to look, to ponder, to ask questions and don't submit to anything because it's familiar or it's more comfortable. Don't dismiss the twilights and the chances that comes your way from your Lord. Pay attention. Pay real attention and always seek. Don't ever feel you have arrived. Connect to your Lord directly and exclusively. MARVELOUS QURAN
Interesting that in the middle when he starts talking about the invention and “banning” of the crossbow and guns and stuff, he doesn’t seem to realize that the power structures at that time (the Pope, Japanese shogun, etc) only banned them because it eliminated their monopoly on violence. Those tools effectively gave power to the weak and the poor and democratized the power dynamic of violence so the governments tried to ban it for that reason alone. They didn’t want mere peasants to be as equally powerful as the government and military. This is the exact same reason governments of today (USA) are trying to ban guns like the AR-15 and prevent civilian ownership. Also mentions his role at evil WEF, the topics of AI, UBI, etc and asks the correct question: cui bono? Who benefits from all this? Good video, mashallah.
That is unfair. We don’t know what the Rabbi is going through. We also don’t know if he may be loved by Allah for his excellent deeds. Maybe we Muslims can focus on our own problems, and May Allah not let us feel that we need to compete with other Faith Families.
Shaykh Hamza's act is a message of unity and here we are calling for reasons of divisions, you actually call of the opposite of Shaykh Hamza's dawaa and Allah knows best.
I think the biggest fear we should have right now is the fact that we are suffering a little birthright due to the chemicals and the things that we are doing in this altering culture
Universal income is a ruse like the ruse of the industrial growth which promised only one member of a family will support the whole family only working 8 hours a week because the technology has multiplied effort a 1000 folds during the industrial era. The efficiency happened but the promise or assumptive promise didn’t. AI is going forward and all countries and communities should not wait for the ones advancing in it but develop their own to create a balance of power.
'They call it progress and yet handspan by handspan they'll be going backwards'. who said that sheik? may I ask why are you sat with Santa's Klaus at WEF?
If we can ban drugs and plants, we can ban phones for people under 18. Merchants are running our world and the lack of care of what their product does is killing us.
