The scene works particularly well when contrasted with the more upbeat tone at the beginning of the mini movie. Edgy Billy and gloomy Supes are……alright, but it’s more impactful when these characters’ optimism are challenged rather than dark all the way, inside and out.

They could cast Jack Black as the Black Adam, and I'd be fine with it IF he plays the character in the comics, and does it well. Yeah, that's always something you wonder, when you see Superman going toe to toe with someone like Darkseid, it's easy to forget that he's not a God, or anything like that, he's just an alien who happened to land on the right planet. Sometimes I just wonder "if superman alone could become a threat to the entire universe, what would it look like if the entire Kryptonian civilization got his powers? What would they do?" The answer is probably "become just like the Viltrumites from Invincible, except even worse" but it's still something I wonder from time to time.

Actually, supes practices a kryptonian martial art if I am not wrong but recent cartoons and comics don't show that. Not sure if I remember correctly
