Pat Benetar was a sensation back in the day. Powerhouse vocals, own rockin style, and a pop culture icon. She still gets out there for shows occasionally. Love it, love you guys, keep doing what you're doing. All good vibes, all good music, all love every day
My first concert was Pat Benatar at age 12!!❤ She was performing at Disneyland. It was also my 1st time at Disneyland. Pat Benatar was on a stage that rose from underneath the ground. 😲She came out rocking decked out in black leather. 🤘🏾At that very moment, I no longer cared about seeing Mickey, Minnie or anything else Disney😂I didn't move from that spot.
I am so glad you are discovering one of the greatest voices in rock. She has no match as far as I'm concerned. She now opens the door for so many contemporary singers, and they owe her a hell of a debt. I grew up listening to Pat Benatar and many others of her generation back then. I was a teenager during the 80s, so I'm thankful I could experience all of this growing up. I'm so glad you are discovering what actual singing is and what true rock and roll is keep it up. Promises in the dark is another one of my all-time favorites of hers. I think it shows her vocal range probably the best.
One of the greatest female vocalists of all time, and one if the greatest female rock songs from the 1980s...legendary, will last forever. Still on my playlist......such a cool beat for strutting down the street or through the supermarket grocery shopping! 😄
I just found you tonight. Thank you so much for respecting the music and not continuously stopping and starting it. To me, you have separated yourself from so many other reactors. When you let the music be heard, when you let the songs breathe, it is such a blessing. You have so much wonderful music yet to discover.
We Belong is amazing and All Fired Up rocked her voice and shows her budding beginnings with her husband Neil. Also her duet with Martina McBride on crossroads doing Independance Day was amazing. Check them all out, great job you two as always 💖
Love your reaction. Just subscribed. Pat Benatar still sings this way and she’s around 65 now, and still performing with her husband and guitarist Neil Giraldo ❤️
Y’all with really appreciate the works of Pat and her guitarist husband Neil! Soulmates in every sense. Their songwriting is real and not for the faint of heart! Hell is for children Fire and Ice We belong
Woke up creaky and bleary-eyed, got some coffee on the porch, clicked and heard, “🎶It’s your girl Mel-llllll🎵!” Great energy to start the day with, thanks guys! 🙏
I love your amazing smiles and energy!!!!! I was a kid in the 80s but this was one on my mom's pop icons... therefore exposing me to an amazing vocal wonder ....this song gives me chills....
Saw her twice (2008, 2009) and she puts on an INCREDIBLE show. The epitome of women in Rock’n’Roll. Eat up with talent and she ain’t gonna take no shit!
She's an icon. All these songs everyone are putting out there are solid. Plus she married the guitar player and it's a marriage that's lasted almost 40 years. That alone is really bad ass. lol
When you realize that your parents generation was cooler than yours! Great reaction guys! Would love to see you react to some music from twenty one pilots, I recommend their song Migraine, has a great message and some serious bars
More by Pat: We Belong, Invincible, Shadows of the Night, Heartbreaker, Fire and Ice, Hell is for Children. Pat was everywhere in the early 80's. I remember seeing girls at the mall with the Pat Benatar look. They looked mean but, were some of the sweetest people.
About a girl who decides to run off to the big city against her parents wishes thinking a more exiting life awaits her only to find out it is dirty and hard and ends up going back home. The old saying "there's no place like home". Motley Crue covered the same subject in home sweet home and Rush covered the subject in analog kid.
True. It was lampooned in Fast Times At Ridgemont High. Pat saw that scene sand, not wanting to be a caricature, changed her look and wore a straight jacket for the cover of her Get Nervous album.
Luka- Suzanne Vega, is a wonderfully written song on a very emotional topic. Love to see you react to it. Thanks for reacting to this classic tune from Pat!
Oh, yes -- ma girl! She was -- AND STILL IS -- kickass. I highly recommend: these songs so you can hear her gravel and power. She's the sh*t! Fire & Ice Hell is for Children Promises in the Dark You Better Run
Some of my favorite pat Benatar songs I think you will like, We Live for Love, Never Wanna Leave You, I'm Gonna Follow You, Out A Touch, Treat Me Right, Wuthering Heights and You Better Run.
check out Pat's videos all fired up, Heartbreaker, Promises in the dark, fire and ice, invincible, we belong, hit me with your best shot, Shadows in the night! the lead guitar player in her band is her husband!
The first video incorporating storyline and the last ever video you'll see Pat Benatar do dance choreography in. She hated it. lol. Also guitarist/producer/husband Neil Giraldo created the drum track by trying out a digital drum machine for the first time and accidentally deleting a bar of it. And then deciding it sounded better than what he had originally programmed and used the mistake instead. I recommend "Don't Walk Away" for a track to hear her full vocal abilities from Opera style to Hard Rock. Very few classically trained vocalists make that transition. Pat and Neil are still touring today.
I think I was 12 years old LOL I had a huge poster of her on my wall. I finally got to see her live in Buffalo New York. They had a free concert every Thursday during the summer in the Square. She's amazing. If you get a chance check out Hell is For Children period kind of an emotional song but very powerful
Along with Pat having to fight to be respected as a serious female artist; she never compromised on getting her strong messages across i.e. Hell Is For Children. Popularity Be Damned.
One of my favorite Pat Benatar songs is Invincible from the legendary 80’s movie The Legend of Billie Jean which you should check out the song and movie
