Which I can appreciate her addressing a sensitive topic. I know both Nat and Ezee don't mean any harm, it's just that those sentiments are deeply rooted in antiblackness, specifically Anti-Black American and Continental African in this case. Colorism, texturism, and featurism are branches of racism. Language matters “Watch your thoughts, they become your words; watch your words, they become your actions; watch your actions, they become your habits; watch your habits, they become your character; watch your character, it becomes your destiny.” Lao Tzu what doesn't help is that too often we participate in these skewed ideologies. I think they started to realize how they were starting to sound and did a little clean up with the 'your texture is good' nod. But I can tell there's some of the ideology you speak of still in there. It is hard to break from when everyone around you (including us) believes that certain features that are perceived as further from 'blackness' are better. It is a systemic lie that has been used forever. Same reason why in the doll test, young black children see themselves as ugly. I would love to live in a world where nappy is not a considered negative. Where people can see that blackness can produce all kinds of uniqueness from all shades of skin, all colors of the eye, and all textures of hair.

You are given Pat Parker and Audre Lorde vibes 🙌🏾💯 It's something about Ezee and Nat that I gravitate to, and keeps me watching they legit bring joy to me when I watch them and I am confident in saying they have no ill intentions. At the same time, the road to hell is paved with good intentions. I believe that Ezee's discomfort and insecurities she has about her hair is rooted in what you and I are talking about. It breaks my heart everytime Ezee makes a "joke" about her hair. I'm like baby girl give the weave a rest for a min and appreciate the beauty in the "dark cloud" that sits on your head. Now, I do wear weave as far as braids and twists, but I'll rock my own hair for 2-3 weeks after I take them suckas out. I know race and cultural topics aren't their brand, but I think this would be a perfect opportunity for Ezee and Nat to have a candid conversation about intersectionality. Cause umm even though I tune into them I do observe these things as I am watching. Its a video where they are sitting outside of a restaurant at its table and they down played the hell out of them being discriminated. We can clearly see how a Black American experience (Ezee's awareness) differs from someone who is not (Nat first calling the waitress Karen and then saying she doesn't think it was about race) Nat's experience with racism is totally different. I think it's easy for them to ignore stuff like that because they both benefit from pretty privilege, but that's a whole nuva topic.. Also, the lack of darker melenated women in their videos.I truly believe they are not aware that their content can open up to a broader audience by sharing these experiences and having the hard convos. At the end of the day they still bring me joy like Mary lol
