I work on these laptops regularly at my school! I'm a student tech assistant and they let me do repairs on these since they are old laptops which are just used as spares now! Very cool!
The craziest customer story like this I had was a guy with his ipad saying the iPads screen broke when he went outside from the warmer room and the temperature difference broke it. :D The worst was when I explained him I’m not a five year old and no way this happened , the technicians will send it back to him as that’s not something that is covered under warranty he didn’t give up the bullshit. He said he is going to sue Apple for this 😃 There was a clear mark of the impact where he dropped it.
@@bestchief_ I was working at a carrier, My job was to forward the devices to the repair shops to the technicians. Also those shops didn’t fix the devices, they send back a new (swap) device.
I thought you have parts in the shop, but that was such a random laptop and i doubt you have a replacement screen lying around. Do you tell the customer to wait fir a couple of days and buy a part or do you get a same day delivery with some company. Just curious
Fun fact. A t470 has 2 battery's one is removable from the outside the other one is inside the laptop. You can disable the Accu in the bios if you want to do maintenance.
This actually happened to me once.My little brother threw my laptop across the room and when I opened it up the screen was cracked. Luckily it only cracked the screen and I was able to replace it
I work in I.T. reimaging computers and we use a fuckton of Lenovos line up; i literally did this exact same thing to one of our laptops. A similar generation laptop (L450) was on the floor; i dropped my waterbottle on it by accident and since the plastic on the body on the laptop is plastic its super durable and gave zero indication of damage until i opened the screen and had a very similar damage to this one; where the pixels bleed is where the impact was.
I actually had a phone from T-Mobile called the tmobile dash that would do that. I went through 8 warranty replacements. Because the screen would just blow up. Example: I left my phone on the dresser and the screen was working perfectly, I went to work, Came back 9 hours later, Phone is on dresser Still, But the screen is broken.
Well you did not remove the laptops internal battery, and from what i can see you replaced the ips screen with a tn panel. Also when servicing thinkpad screens you should have been more careful while removing the bezel and it is mandatory to replace the double sided tape, as it will not hold on after a few weeks
something like this happened to me. i closed my laptop for the night, and left it on my desk. my desk is in my room, and my cat usually sleeps on the edge of my bed. so as i was like, getting ready to sleep, my cat walked over my laptop and the screen looked just like that, so something similar may have happened there
last night i put my laptop where i usually put it and then the next day i opened it and the screen was cracked internally, idk how it happened but i think my dog like stepped on it or smth. and theres a big (ish) black spot up at the top and you couldnt even see my lockscreen when i first opened it but when i closed and opened it again you could see it it was just like a tint of pink or green then up at the top it was like a bunch of colors like tv static and theres still the black splotch so idk how it happened but most likely my dog stepped on it bcuz the black splotch (which appears from intense force on that spot) was up at the top of the screen. but there wasnt really anything important on there except for my minecraft worlds, but im getting a new pc for christmas which that wont happen to and if im bored i can just steal my siblings laptop. :)
My laptop screen once broke like this. What had happened was, I crammed a lot of books in my bag and my laptop too. So the pressure must've bent the screen so hard that it broke the lcd inside. Kinda weird how the damage pattern looks really suspiciously similar to mine. Unfortunately warranty did not cover 'pressure damage' so I had to pay for it.
Working at a computer aftersales service Everytime i have a mail from a customer saying "screen broke by itself", i just want to send them the "x to doubt" meme
Assistant must have closed the laptop at the end of the day and possibly unknowingly kept some heavy bag or object on it while laptop is closed which may have cracked the screen
I had a laptop when I was younger, my sister was crying got mad at me and almost pushed me, I got scared so I quickly moved the laptop and it slowly hit blankets and this happened
I believe it cause I left my tablet on my window sill and came back up and it was perfectly gone before I went down stairs and it was in the same position as I left it but it had a huge crack on it for no reason
Doesn't that model have a internal battery too... so removing the 2nd battery is technically not enough you need to open it and disconnect the primary too.
That is actually really funny since I just replaced the screen on my friends laptop (same one) and he said he doesn’t know what happened, he said he left it on the desk and went to the bathroom and when he got back it was like that
