On this week's episode of Response-able podcast, Gerna Scholte welcomes Natalie and Melanie Howard from New Zealand, to talk about living with a visual impairment. Melanie shares openly about the overwhelming amount of questions she had when she discovered that her first born daughter is blind and how they had no idea of where to go from here.
Twenty-five years later Natalie has proven many of Melanies worries untrue as she now studies in California and is about as adventurous as her mother. Natalie is a pioneer and often goes into places where people have never before met a blind person. She is kind and has learned that she can and she will do much more than she ever thought possible.

I've had the pleasure of seeing Natalie grow up from a toddler into a pretty amazing young lady who consistently tries & experiences waaaay more than many sighted people. And I still learnt so much from this great podcast! Loved the story about Natalie reading braille stories to Carla when the light was tuned off.
