She's so underrated as a performer. I've seen Kylie live about 28 times, and that girl can sing! Check out her live version of Confide In Me from any tour. Stunning.
American here. I was 8 years old when locomotion came out and remembered loving it. Then she went away from our media. Fast forward to 2000… I was at a video bar in SF Castro district and Spinning Around came on… I was like ‘Kylie?’ I instantly fell in love. I had so much fun going back and discovering her music catalogue up until then. I saw her twice live in SF and once in Australia. She is a talented singer. She sings circles around Madonna IMO. I love them both by Kylie is definitely my girl.
A deep dive into Kylie’s catalogue will reveal a treasure trove of artistry that most people don’t know about because a lot of people have already boxed her into what they think she is. I mean songs like GBI, Whistle, Drip Drop and Right here Right now are just the starting point. I’ve loved every moment of her musical career and enjoy seeing other people realise there is way more to her than the brilliant “Can’t get you out of my head. “
@@bridgethegapreactions you’ll probably want to do a little research on what the songs mean or how they came about to have a better listening experience because some of them are out there but make perfect brilliant sense once you know the background
This is by far the most incredible moment from any concert I have ever been to. I was I tears when the rose petals came down. A memory I'll cherish forever.
@@bridgethegapreactions i love your reaction videos. I am a huge fan of Bjork, Mariah, Madonna, and Kylie. May I suggest a Norwegian artist named Aurora? She is incredible. If so, I would start with "Winter Bird". Keep up the great work!
Kylie is one of the absolute best vocalists and pop vocalists. Americans overlooked her after her first album and then she got a lot of attention again finally when Fever/Can’t Get You Out of My Head hit. I never caught that bit of teardrop. I haven’t seen the Fever tour in ages. My DVD skips on the song Fever which is one of my favorites.
The composition on these tracks is beautiful and suit her voice beautifully, steve anderson the musical director is a genius and has worked with her for years
You made me so happy ! I really love how genuine you are and Kylie has a very special place in my heart as a woman and artist I can’t wait for more . If you want to get blown away by her vocals try Confide in me live and your disco needs you :)
She definitely is up there with Madonna and yes I think she deserves a deep dive. My experience with her music was Fever, Backwards to Light Years, forwarded to Body Language, X, Aphrodite - that’s when I saw her live. I do love her early work with Stock Aitken, Waterman, and also what I do know of Impossible Princess. I recommend the song Too Far, and any performances off The Aphrodite Les Folies tour - Particularly Illusion, Closer, and There Must Be an Angel Playing with My Heart. But maybe you need to react to tours? 😆🤷🏻♂️
Johnny, again I love your frank observations and reactions to your artists reviewed. Of all the artists I have followed over the years, Madonna, Shania, The Killers etc, of all the female artists I think Kylie is the very very best. I know Boy George who wrote the crying game part of the medley is a good friend and follower of Kylie, but he must be so proud of the way she performed this medley. Every time I watch this performance it gives me goosebumps and I agree with you, she has to be the best pop vocalist of our time. I don't know anyone who could sing her songs with so much empathy and emotion. She has a unique style which entrances you when she performs. She has such a fantastic range sonically and her timing is impeccable. She has the full gambit of performing. She can dance, sing, entertain, act. And she doesn't forget her lyrics. Sometimes I follow the written lyrics and she doesn't miss a thing, one song after another. Unbelievable! Johnno
She’s hugely underrated in America. The majority of Americans don’t even know who she is unless if you’re a pop head or a gay guy like I am. I think the reason why she never made it big in America is b/c she’s not controversial enough for Americans. Unfortunately in America in order to get famous you have to be controversial. It’s a shame. Americans like their pop stars to be rude, scandalous, & full of drama. Examples of singers/pop stars in that category include: Britney, Madonna, & Mariah. I’m not trying to sound like I’m bashing them but I just don’t like what American culture has turned into
I'm not sure if anyone looks at my playlists, but if you go to my channel page and then Playlists, you'll find a Kylie one which also has Good Life and Free.
Ok a quick 'technical' critique of Kylie's voice. She's a lyric (soft) Mezzo Soprano but can get way low, down to Tenor (her duet with Jack Savoretti for instance) and the into Soprano using her head voice. However I personally think she's best in her Mid Chest, belt where she has her true power as proved in this performance when going into the final choruses of Crying Game. She does constantly use her nose to belt through which is annoying because she has proved she can belt thorough her mouth but hey, if it's her thing then do it. She is a technically more proven singer than people give her credit for though. Because she doesn't sound like Christina, or Cher, or Shirley Bassey people criticise her but she doesn't haven the same voice. It' like comparing apples and oranges.
You’re right about the massive attack “teardrop” reference… not sure if it’s an exact sample, or which song came out first though. Kylie’s song “Put Yourself in My Place” is more of a major key of course.
Love Kylie. I love the Fever album. The Crying Game was a cover for Boy George produced by Pet Shop Boy. The original was Dave Berry but I really love the Brenda Lee version. Boy George is one of my favorites. His solo work is criminally overlooked. ❤
@@bridgethegapreactions Culture Club is one of my favorites I saw them a couple of months ago. Fourth time I’ve seen them. His solo albums High Hat and Martyr Mantras are also great.
Technically she is a good singer but naturally her mid tones are nasal. It's fine if you're hearing one song, but if you play a whole Kylie album, the nasality of her voice can f up your ears.
Мне очень нравиться её назальный тон на некоторых нотах, это звучит красиво и придаёт определёный шарм её пению. Не забывайте, что назальный тоном обладают и поют kim wilde, patricia kaas.
