I'd say it's a cry or a yell made by restricting the vocal tract. This sound comes mainly from the tissue that the vocal chords are attached to (the false vocal chords) I don't know how to describe it better than that. I hope that helps 😊

I got a chance to meet her and she’s one of the sweetest people. Her live performances are EVERYTHING!! She has this crispness and clarity to her voice that is 🤯. Clearly she’s my favorite but anywho, yea, she did that! Lol

I love this performance. Fantasia is my 2nd favorite entertainer ever, after The Beatles. I've seen her live several times and In The Color Purple on Broadway, where she was also fantastic.

I'm fully aware of how good Fantasia is thank you very much, and I am not unfamiliar with the music or culture either. None of that means everything she does is flawless. I love Fantasia. She did many tributes to Aretha. My favorites are. “Rock Steady” and “Baby I love you”which she sang directly to Aretha. Aretha chose her to sing at her funeral which shows how much she respected her. She is an amazing performer. FYI, If her shoes are off she’s about to go in!
