I am 63 years old and have been a rocker since I was 8 years old listening to Led Zeppelin, Steppenwolf and Black Sabbath with Ozzy Osbourne. ( Not many 8 year olds still today that are listening to hard rock/metal ). Nightwish with Floor is in a different realm. I don't know what it is that Floor does....as there are plenty of female vocalist that could sing Nightwish's music...but only Floor makes their songs come alive.
2:53 "I don't know what it is about this lady, man". What she is... there is a high probability that she is technically one of the best female singers alive right now. She is to singing what Anna Pavlova was to ballet. I don't know if we will ever see another like her again in my lifetime. I'm just glad she lived in my time so I have hope I may see her perform live.
This is my favorite... No...Ghost Love Score...no...Poet and the Pendulum.... Wait a freeking minute Larry...we love them all!!!! How can you have a single Nightwish song be your favorite??? They're all amazing!!!
The addition of Troy and Floor really allowed them to reach their final form. Thankfully, Kai proved to be a worthy successor to Jukka (in a weird case of the master replacing the student?), so they have an all-star team now.
This song is one of their best. I like hearing a different performance to hear the subtle differences Floor brings to each rendition. Little melodic changes that are really beautiful without changing the song. Same with little details from the other band members.
This is the best live version I've heard..... With the exception of Wacken '13. I'm not sure I'll ever hear another version that will ever top that. I've not heard any other version that she has sung with such power as she did at Wacken.
Yes,I agree.I like better the Wacken version,so powerful! Floor always amazing (here too, beautifully sang),just somehow on other version I was hooked from powerful singing,my feelings and memories
Nightwish is a MASTER key to all your emotions. And when a door opens tidal waves rush through so be ready. Though no matter how many times you hear them you can never be totally ready, drowning in whatever feeling they awaken in you and... it is AWESOME
Dude, ¡something is missing in your Nightwish Rabbit Hole! Check “I want my tears back” in Buenos Aires. ¡You gonna have so much fun! Love your reactions, man. ¡Congrats!
Random person: "What is your favorite Nightwish song?" Heath: "YEEEEEEEES!!!" Heath as tomorrow is Veteran's Day please do the Official Music Video for Sabaton To Hell and Back. It gives a GREAT depiction of what MANY of my brothers and sisters go through daily with PTSD. Thank you.
I do love how it involved you get with the videos in ways better than just easily-faked visual gags. You've shown you're actually listening, and we love it.
Whatever one thinks of this particular performance (and of course I love it), there are some wonderful shots in this video that are not duplicated in any other that I've seen. Emppu and Kai singing along, closeup overhead shots, etc. Marvelous to have this.
I have been around to long to remember and I have never seen a woman headbang with such aggression. On top of that I have never ever seen the windmill like Floor's! Who else does that with such intensity? Oh so sexy! You need to go to the meet and greet at one of their shows so that you can meet this amazing woman! I bet that she has seen your reactions. You are a legend my friend. Great job Mr. R&R! Peace.
Floor is perfect for Nightwish. She has the look, stage presence, and of course, an amazingly great voice that blends well with Nightwish's style of music. But I believe she is a bit restrained with Nightwish. If you want to hear Floor unleashed, react to Disdain (live at Graspop 2010) when she was with Revamp. She goes from growls to operatic style that is just so damned aggressive. And yes, she even headbangs too.
I still think everdream is Tarjas. I love Floor ever since After forever but this is Tarjas song.. But i cant say this enough.. Marko matches every singer. He is a frigging beast! He is the true star of singing in Nightwish. Nuff said! :)
You are absolutely right about Kai's drumming. I have only seen this new video on my mobil (cell phone) a couple of times but I haven't noticed that before. Must be you having your equalizer set up to make the drums more prominent. Think I have to fire up the old computer and listen to it properly. A lot of people keep saying "It isn't Jukka" all the time, but Kai's drumming is not in any way inferior to Jukka's. If you haven't seen it already I suggest you pop over to Sonny Von Cleveland's channel and check out his Rock 1 On 1 interview with Kai Hahto. Very relaxed conversation between the 2, and you will find out why Kai can not travel together with Amon Amarth. You will also get a bit of an answer to a question that has been bothering the female part of Nightwish'es fans, regarding a certain item of clothing that Marko is wearing on stage sometimes. Cheers / B.
I love Floor as well! She is so versatile. She can sing the worst song in history and make it sound like the best song ever! And of course it helps she is so damn easy on the eyes. She is one tall glass of water!😍🤩. Oh by the way, they are amazing live! When they come back to Kansas City, I'm going again!
It's not just you...it's just her. I'm surprised you're not a member of the Fans Of Floor Jansen private facebook group...thousands of pictures of Floor.
i love this performance so much but I HAAAATE the crowd, how do you just...STAND THERE, as a canadian I am ashamed of this vancouver crown, but hey you know what everyone in Canada says about west coasters....
I will for forever prefer this song and Dead Boy's Poem to be sung by Tarja, for me those are her songs, but Floor is a friggin force of nature and I am glad she is part of Nightwish now. :)
She sounded a bit tired and....off on that performance, weird. And I think that I can hear a lot of auto-tune on the chorus. I don't know, this wasn't the best performance I have ever seen from them.
Yes, the version sounds better than the Wacken version, but as a fan of Floor for over 15 years by now, I still prefer Tarja singing this song. I don't know why, but it is like it is
