I think what's solidified Darren's belief of Frankie is that when she broke down and was accusing Darren of not believing her, she said a lot of stuff that JJ repeated to Darren, inadvertently revealing the words JJ used to groom her. Also the look on JJ's face when he was trying to come up with a response. He looked right terrified.
THATS TRUE NANCY HAS GOT THE RIGHTS TO ADOPT FRANKIE BECAUSE FRANKIE NEEDS NANCY TO BE HER REAL MOTHER NOT LIKE her own mum who is a lowlife woman who says bad things about her own daughter like that and gets away with it
@@ChelseyLinden If they can prove that Suzanne took Frankie's phone in order to hide evidence, her parental rights could be stripped on the basis of neglect.
@@amywonderland9297 Nancy’s smart enough to put pieces together. Nancy saw JJ sneak into Frankie’s room. Why Frankie drugged Morgan so Nancy would stay with Frankie overnight & Why JJ was so quick to point the finger at her when Frankie fell down the steps.
Shame on Suzanne for not believing her own daughter! Darren's right. A lot of people don't come forward and tell people out of fear that they won't be believed. At least Darren's on her side and believes her. What Suzanne is doing is absolutely unforgivable.
She had a really difficult choice, though. It wasn't believe her daughter and accuse a friend; it was believe her daughter and accuse her son. I can understand not wanting to believe it. Not that it excuses it.
The way JJ acted when confronted was pure guilty, trying to redirect the blame. He did a terrible job. If he was truly innocent he wouldn’t have acted with such panic.
Suzanne's been a rubbish mum.I feel bad Frankie had to suffer for so long.Happy Darren believes and supports Frankie.Oscar needs to tell Darren and Nancy about the video and that JJ bullied and threaten him.
I KNOW WHO WILL SORT JJ AND SUZANNE IT WILL BE DARREN OSBORNE TEAMS UP WITH JACK OSBORNE AND Charles CHARLIE OSBORNE will expose them to the police station
The moment the mother said, "And YOU", if I were the father I would have immediately stood in her way and yell in her face to not say a word towards that girl. To get out and that if she had more to say, she could say it through a lawyer. I would absolutely yell over her until she got the hell out. I wouldn't dare to let her look that poor girl in the eyes and threaten her further.
So Frankie told her mum first when she was 9 and back then she didn't believe her. She still doesn't and that just proove that she is the worst mum ever
@@Chucky2475her mum knew about it a long time ago but didn't care she's worried about JJ because he's a super star and all she cares about JJ making money

Wonderful ep. Everything was very well written and acted. Ashley Taylor Dawson was on fire. What an actor! Over the years we've seen through his upbringing of Charlie and Oscar what a great dad Darren is, and this ep once again reaffirmed what a wonderful father he is. Very lovely the way he dealt with Frankie. He didn't doubt her; he confronted JJ and assured her that he'd protect her.
I agree I so love Ashley I sometimes wish we could see him sing on screen again along with Dillon, Ethan, Nana and even Liberty. This was an amazing performance.
This episode was crazy good because I’ve never seen Darren look so disgusted and mad in his life. They did such great acting and I was so annoyed when Frankie’s mum didn’t believe her after all of this. I’m glad Darren did believe her though and I’m sure he will tell Nancy.
Frankie never said that word JJ did and with Darren’s reaction you could tell he knows there’s more stuff that’s happened that Frankie hasn’t told anyone, also I hope if the whole village find out they help support Frankie and chase Suzanne and JJ out as there’s plenty of people in that village who’d be a better mother/sister/brother/uncle/aunt/grandparents to Frankie. I also hope Darren thanks Lucas for being there for Frankie and trying to help her after what JJ did to her that night in the park
oh I have cried at this. I am so glad Darren believes Frankie. It's such a shame Suzanne doesn't. JJ knows he's been caught out now. On a separate note, absolutely brilliant performance from them all and especially the young girl who plays Frankie.
I'm not sure what's worse: Suzanne's disbelief in Frankie or her defense of JJ. It will be a harsh awakening when the truth emerges, and seeing JJ's downfall will be immensely satisfying.
This is one of the best abuse storylines soaps have ever done. The writing and acting has been incredibly from everyone involved. However unfortunately hollyoaks has over shadowed this storyline all the gangsta blue drama and Patrick’s evil twin
Such a tough topic to act through all these months. Major props to all the actors involved. It could not be easy doing this important but hard hitting storyline. But you've all done so brilliantly.
Suzanne’s been annoying me for awhile, but this is just too much. If she does believe Frankie later on & sees JJ’s true colors, I hope Frankie DOESNT FORGIVE HER MOM. Suzanne doesn’t deserve any for neglecting Frankie, playing favorites with JJ and all those horrible things she called her own daughter. Frankie’s better off without Suzanne as a mom.
In the latest episode Suzanne ends up not caring about frankie at all but only cares about jj, in the new episode it turns out Suzanne knew all along about jj seuxally abusing Frankie since she 9 and Suzanne actually steals Frankie's phone in order to hide all the evidence and save jj
@@hsz_xk suzanne knows and can't admit it she has probably frankie told her before and when she assumed it was her bf and kicked him out and it didn't stop why didn't she put two and two together she's sick

AMAZING performance. i stopped watching hollyoaks consistently but i’ve kept up with this storyline on here.. really glad that frankie finally said something & darren believed her STRAIGHT AWAY. nancy is def gonna do the same, this is so emotional. 💔
WOW, this is great acting at its finest. This scene/writing is so worth a award for the acting. Hollyoaks take on this is super better than any other british soap out there now.
She doesn't, in the new episode it turns out Suzanne knew all along about jj abusing Frankie since 9 and actually steals Frankie's phone in order to hide all the evidence and save JJ
@keeperofthe7keys1987 she tried to tell her when she was nine! She knows full well it’s true she just doesn’t want people to know what she’s let happen right under her nose. And people need to understand the Jack situation isn’t as black and white as her just simply lying. Think about how Jj starts his creepy actions. “Let’s play school disco” then he’s starts slow dancing with her and rubbing her. In her moment with Jack she had a genuine trauma response to being touched while dancing. To Frankie she wasn’t lying because of what usually comes next. Of course we the audience know Jack would never but a young girl who’s been going through what she has for years? Yeah not as simple as people make out
hollyoaks have really done their research, suzanne is in denial, which is usually a common response with a Taboo like this, she doesn't want to believe it but she know's deep down it's the truth, Darren is an incredible Father 💯 I hope JJ gets the consequences for his evil s*ck actions
Nah. Wrong. I’m a mother myself and if my daughter told me that she was being abused by anyone for that matter I would believe her in an instant, I would never doubt my child not ever
Exactly. That's the real mother's, true mother's attitude. But, unfortunately, very often there are mothers who don't give up on their favorite child - even if it costs the other child the child's life and future. My mother betrayed me cruelly the same way in the same situation when I cried for help, when I was 12. And she forbade me to tell anyone, especially my father, otherways 'she might die, and I would be guilty of that'.. And my, now 68 years old brother, who still feels no shame, no guilt, claimes: "My mothe adored me." She ruined my life, everything, as if she killed me that moment. And she knew the truth, hiding it and calling me "my crazy daughter" for decades. She never loved me, she just felt sorry for herself and wanted to remain 'comfortable' in face of a disaster.
I get why her mum is not believing it considering her behavior and how she accused her grandad, however surely Darren wholeheartedly believing Frankie should be a sign that he knows what happened, her mum shouldnt have jumped to conclusions and asked more questions, ask exactly what was said, why it's believed, when it happened etc. Darren should have told her mum what he told JJ, how it all makes sense cause the lashing out, self harm etc. Her mum is awful.
It's great that Darren believes Frankie but its a bummer that Suzanne doesn't however sooner or later the truth is coming to light and when it does JJ's gonna have a lot to answer for.
In the latest episode Suzanne ends up not caring about frankie at all but only cares about jj, in the new episode it turns out Suzanne knew all along about jj seuxally abusing Frankie since she 9 and Suzanne actually steals Frankie's phone in order to hide all the evidence and save jj
Plot twist: Either Hannah or even Neville (if he returned) will back Frankie up and say that they witnessed something between Frankie and JJ. I really hope Hannah backs her sister up.
So relieved to see Darren and Frankie together. Nancy too will be able to return if Darren explains everything to the police. Wish they all stay together again as a happy family without JJ and Suzanne. But I think JJ and Suzanne should be taken before the law.
Having Frankie finally speak up and Darren actually believing her makes me so happy, seeing Darren scream at JJ, but denying it is so annoying. Her mum not believing her ONCE again made me mad, hopefully they can get The mum to believe Frankie and do something about JJ
Darren did the right thing by comforting JJ after he heard about what JJ did to Frankie he is the one parent that did not let JJ get away with what he did to his daughter
What sort of mother doesn't believe her own daughter? the Fact that she was quick to Believe JJ and dismiss Frankie despite the sincerity in her face shows what a terrible mother she really is she did not even sit down and listen to anything Frankie had to say she just walked out on her even if she does not believe Frankie and Darren she should ask Oscar as he also knows the truth about what Frankie's been through she will definitely regret walking out on her once the truth is finally revealed and I would not blame Frankie if she did not want anything to do with her mother after this.
Frankie told her mum that JJ touched her when she was nine but she just assumed it was her boyfriend. She told her again and was still in denial because she wants to protect JJ.
Sadly, this happens in a lot of cases. Especially when the perpetrator is someone close like a friend, relative, or romantic partner. Parents don't want to believe that their judgement is so flawed that they couldn't recognise a predator 😢
I've watched Hollyoaks since the beginning and am the first to admit there is a LOT wrong with it (that hopefully will be sorted by the time jump) but this storyline has been perfection from the start. The acting has been incredible from the two youngsters and although we've seen Ashley being brilliant many times before he's jusy reached another level. I'm sure when Nancy finds out Jessica will also be amazing. I'm a survivor of sexual abuse and Hollyoaks have absolutely done Frankies story justice.
The rest of the family is going to need therapy. And I'm hoping they drop the investigation on Nancy. Let alone I hope Frankie doesn't get in trouble for lying about Nancy
In the latest episode Suzanne ends up not caring about frankie at all but only cares about jj, in the new episode it turns out Suzanne knew all along about jj seuxally abusing Frankie since she 9 and Suzanne actually steals Frankie's phone in order to hide all the evidence and save jj
The actress who plays frankie is absolutely brilliant suzanne disgusts me for all the things she said about nancy stems straight from jealousy because she knows shes a better mother x
"Hes gonna make us rich" that....that right there is the exact reason she is willing to ignore it. She's putting a literal one in a million shot at a career at pro sports for her son over her daughters will to live and her comfort. Shes a vile character that is a sad reality.
When she finds out the truth who her son really is he’s nothing but a disappointment and start blaming herself knowing that she failed for not disciplining her son
This was difficult to watch. I was abused by my brother (6 years older) for years. I tried to tell my mother when I was 5, although I was too young to understand how bad it was. My brother wasn't violent, he used coercion and manipulation, very effective at that age. My mother just told me to stop going into his room. Of course, it didn't matter. But for the rest of my childhood, I thought if I had just stayed out of my brother's room, it wouldn't have happened. But it happened in many places. It continued for years, until a school counselor noticed red flags. I was 10 by then, and legally the school had to report it to the police. It was handled badly, but that's another subject. This video pierced my heart for 2 reasons. First, it reminded me of my dad coming to the school. I wasn't present when they told him, but I remember him pulling me aside, squatting down to my eye level and asking me why I never came to him. It honestly never occurred to me. He wasn't an affectionate father and I had never seen him cry in my life. And yet, the video brought my father's words back to me. "I'm your father. It's my job to protect you and I failed." Second, I didn't see my dad confront my brother. But my mom told me, in detail. The actor here did a masterful job showing the clash of emotions when he confronts JJ. A parent who loves both children - horrified, enraged and devastated. That entire, "how could you do that to your sister?!" scene gave me an eerie visual of my mom's description. My mom didn't accuse me of lying, but she didn't want to deal with it either. I was 18 before a therapist made me realize, a 5 year old entering a room isn't consent for abuse and staying out doesn't stop it. Sounds ridiculous, but as a child, I never questioned it. Full disclosure, I only found a few clips on RU-vid, I don't know this show's back story.
At 9:40 The mom reveals her true intentions on how she feels about JJ versus her daughter. She sees JJ as a way to get rich and make money and have more social status. Versus Frankie who's always been a "mess up" this is why she's always going to take JJ's side. That and she's just a bad mom
I see why Suzanne isn’t believing it because it’s absolutely disgusting and horrible to think about. To even think this happens irl to is equally as horrible Frankie did the right thing and so did Darren ❤
EVERY ACTOR ON THE SCREEN RIGHT HERE DEVOURED! INCREDIBLE PERFORMANCES 👏🏻 JJ is STILL LYING to Darren !? 😱😱 We need Oscar to show Darren the video. Then hopefully we can finally send JJ down 😭🤞🏻
I was only 8 yrs old when my step brother started making me do it I told my mom, she only talked to him but it didn't stop him he, kept doing it for another 4 years, until he finally left. I understand what mothers betrayal feels like.
As much as I despise Suzanne, I can't entirely blame her for not wanting to believe what her own son was capable of. Also, there was this theory on reddit I found that could explain why Suzanne doesn't believe Frankie, and the event dates back to 2007 when her daughter Hannah lied about being SA by Gilly so she could hide her anorexia. Gilly noticed Hannah not eating, and she threatened him to keep his mouth shut. I hate Suzanne with a passion, but that theory could make sense for the character. (Well that, and seeing JJ as the golden child considering she could profit off his football talent.)
How can a mother not believe her own daughter?! 🙄 It's like we are living back in the 60s and 70s when people were too scared to come forward. Like Darren says out loud. "This is why people don't come forward." That quote alone is heartbreaking.
Interesting, the way the writers are trying to portray two sides. Some believe the victims and others don't. As soon as Frankie told Darren, he started to see the truth. But Suzanne went the other way.
The Dad was so hurt that he was crying but the mother was thinking about the son making them rich. That would go away if they report him to the authorities.
Things like this you wanna brush it under carpet but it creeps bk up over n over till you get at least some closure n even then but time can be a healer
Suzanne has always been oblivious and in denial when any of her children were in trouble, mainly Hannah and Frankie. Over 16 years ago, Hannah did lie about Gilly (Rhys' best mate) hurting her only to protect herself from Suzanne, Rhys, and brother Josh from finding out about her eating disorder. So that is probably why she is denying JJ's abusing Frankie now. I am glad that Frankie has moved to Hollyoaks and now lives with Darren. And maybe now Nancy can come home and adopt her.
Sadly, this does happen in some families. I had a cousin ( thankfully deceased now) who constantly abused his three sisters and even attacked his younger brother. He was a hateful narcissistic b****d.
What he said was true this is exactly why people dont come out and tell the truth. And by your own mother who would rather care about her sons career then her daughters safety.
