Lauren's Dad passed away in 2014 and his truck has sat for the last 8 years. His truck has not been to the Daytona Beach Turkey since 2013. We finally pull his truck out of storage and honor him at his favorite car show.

Not good opening up or taking truck out of the bubble while it’s raining sir. The moisture is going to rust out that beautiful truck. Common sense sir.

I have an old 1970 ford f100 that my dad bought new and he gave me at 16 yrs old. My adult daughter has laid claim to it and wants it for her own when I’m gone from this planet. I took her out to learn to drive it two summers ago and she did very very good driving it , it’s also a three on the tree no power steering no power brakes. I love seeing the kids take interest in ole dad’s things. Great job making these memories and the legend lives on.

What a cool thing to do for your wife and her family I'm sure her mom is extremely happy that it's in the right place now and honoring the love and dedication that he put in to maintain his truck. I hope she gets many years of enjoyment out of it knowing that her dad is proud that she's taking care of it and enjoying something that he was proud of. Great video you have a family of car guys that are happy to see his grandkids getting to enjoy it too. When we get to fire up a car that was enjoyed by our loved ones that are not with us anymore I have always felt there presence and spirit on those drives. It's as if for a short while part of them gets to enjoy their wing's and spend time together with the ones they left behind. It's a happy time for a car enthusiast and a breef step from reality for the loved one! May she always bring a little peace of the good times to the for front of your mind. Enjoy your special time with this beautiful family heirloom!

Cool old trucks. 8 volts to the starter (6 volt system) no alternator uses dc generator . Starter not by relay but pushed a button below the gas pedal by the bell housing to start the motor. Kind of a problem b/c on occasion the driver would hit the starter by accident. Manual steering. Thank god they don’t make them like they used to. But what fun nostalgia. I had a 55 4400. That would be a one ton flat bead dual rear wheel. I recall, used a magneto for the ignition system. Scary if you got a flat on any kind of slope, the thing would roll when you changed a tire because the parking brake was a friction ring the drive line instead of the individual rear wheels. Sometimes a new driver would forget to release the parking brake and smoke from the asbestos ring would come up through the floor into the cab. You would carry extra water for the radiator because they didn’t ave a side surge tank for expansion and redraw back to the radiator. Bringing back lots of memories, about the people of the time too. Thanks for the video.
