Vivien Leigh is undoubtely the best actress in movie history, she was utterly magnetic and quite unlike any of her competitors, with an ability to communicate a depth of feeling at wich others could only hint. She was the most beautiful, projected a refinated image of distincion, elegance and first class, that was inate. It´s a pity that her battle against tuberculosis and her mental condition began to consume her energies and her carrer was subsequently erratic. She died very young at 53 years old in 1967. I liked the video specially the scenes with the young Vivien in her triumph moments, the "Gone With The Wind" 1939 Atlanta premiere and the Twelfth Annual Academy Awards at the Ambassador´s Hotel´s Coconut Grove in 1940, when she received her well deserved oscar for best actress. The beautiful musical theme "She" is perfect almost describes her and very touching. Vivien Leigh is inmortal, living forever in the roles that portrayed, with inner passion, beauty and art. 💖💓❤
No-one can compare to our Vivien, a true English rose. A few women were ALMOST as beautiful, such as Liz Taylor, Ava Gardner and Hedy LaMarr, but Vivien's beauty is the absolute pinnacle of wonder. She was ethereal, almost other worldly. We will not see her likeness again.
Her beauty was absolutely beyond striking-ethereal and other worldly. One can only stare at her images when presented on screen or from photographs. I’ve read from those who were blessed to have actually known her that as breathtakingly beautiful motion pictures portrayed her, she was light years more beautiful in person. To paraphrase, pictures did not do her justice. Other great beauties from the Hollywood golden era were greatly intimidated by her and typically declined publicly events when they realized she’d be there. Sadly, the only person who thought she wasn’t “all that” was herself- as she countlessly stated during interviews that she thought she was not beautiful but average at best. Unfathomable!
You are right about her beauty. It says a lot, that many photographers, although used to capture beauty on films, always said Vivien had a special place in their hearts. Henri Alekan, who worked on Duvivier's Anna Karenina, and had been close to many stars like Marlene Dietrich or Martine Carol, talked about Vivien with love until the end of his life.
Just enchanting, beautiful , equal with Elizabeth Taylor, and that’s not to belittle either one. Vivien was also an exceptionally good actress. Who could ever forget her performance in Gone With the Wind. Captivating all the way through, a faultless performance. Rest in peace Vivien
Faults and evils....a beauty, damned by one role in a movie she wanted to own. She WON, and the lost the rest of her live. Was her madness before or after the movie. We will never know. She will will never be lost nor forgotten. From her happy youth, to her sad death. I Love this woman.

The best fmv about Vivien, this song is suitable for Vivien also. Her life was too misrable but this was full of love, until now. Hope that now her spirit is happy in another life.
Great job! A great tribute for the new year! I love the footage from Making of a Legend. It's interesting, in the footage from 1960, Vivien isn't smiling very much. It's actually quite sad. 1960 wasn't an easy year for her.
This song seems to have been written for her. It needs someone exceptional like her. It would’ve been perfect for another actress too: Elisabeth Taylor. Besides those too.....
In 2020 they want to take away a classic Gone With the Wind. Stop them! Goodnight my love stop it baby I love you. Judy Rhett Butler. You're quite wicked sense of humor and I love it destiny is all.
I watched this film with my mother many many years after Vivien Leigh died. I fell in love with Vivien Leigh instantly. And this movie ruined me for the rest of my life because I thought my own love story will be as dramatic and fateful as this one. Alas, I never found my Vivien Leigh for Vivien set the impossible standard for the rest of other women, regardless of age, to attain.
With Laurence Olivier she would have lovely babies, cause he was very handsome too, Vivien was pregnant two times, but unfortunately both ended in miscarriages, the first in an accident, the second espontaneous. Clark Gable´s wife Kay Williams was pregnant about the time he was ending the filming of "The Misfits" 1960 with Marilyn Monroe and Montgomery Clift, but a week after the film´s completion, Clark died of a massive heart attack, without knowing his only son who borned four months later. "The Curse of Gone With The Wind" wich affected the life of many people related, especially the three principal stars: Gable, Vivien Leigh and Leslie Howard who co-starred as Ashley Wilkes. 🏤
Guan Charles Shes just too good for earth. Oh the thing is she never used her beauty instead used her acting. Oh what a marvel. Where are the men and woman of forties fifties where did they vanish. I sound vain but can't quite supress my hearts flutter for those perfect days.
there is nothing wrong with appreciating the beauty of another woman. It doesn't mean you want to have sex with them. :) Vivian Leigh was an exceptionally beautiful women but I do wish she had taken better care of herself, she smoked and drank alcohol which ages a woman faster than anything. Died at 54 (young) of consumption =TB.
@@monjiaitaly, I too am not a lesbian, but think that women are beautiful. I fell in love with VL when I was 7, & I'm now 60. I also have problems, so I empathize. God rest her.
A great success is a wonderful experience. True, it can make things difficult from then on, but so what ? I'm sure Vivien wouldn't have like it any other way...
@@Anna-Jade Just read that Vivien Leigh’s eyes were violet, but because Scarlett O’ Hara’s eyes were green they were changed post-production. So they were made to look green.
