how monique's mom described the relationship she had with her husband (monique's dad), especially the soulmate part, really makes it sound like a similar kind of relationship to the one evelyn shared with harry, which makes it even more interesting how everything is full circle. amazing storytelling as usual!

The ending of this story had me literally weeping, and I can’t even see myself in love ever again. Above all else, it’s Evelyn’s tenacity and drive that I admired so much. Evelyn is the definition of “gaslight, gatekeep, girlboss” in the best way possible, what a legend ❤

You did it so well. At the end of the story, I felt my heart was heavy and empty at the same time. It reflects the lives of real people in the real world. Not just all good and bad, black and white characters we read from fiction. The reveal of her father at the end got me hard. It was a real surprise. Thank you, Stephanie. I love the story and you!

Harry's death was the one that hit the Most... More than sylea...their friendship and their marriage, co parenting.... Everything was so pure...so selfless... It was a heart sinking moment for me.. Also when evelyn cried on his grave... Feels like My heart is gone...i feel So much emptiness 🥺

Damn the ending was just so beautifully wrapped up.... it was so touching and beautiful no matter how painful. You explained it well as the feeling of mourning . It's a great exploration on how society with its expectations can really ruin people and stop them from their truest loves. Great story!!!

I’m only at 45:57 but I am literally screaming with excitement that this author tied in Lavender Marriages, there’s such little spoken about queerness in Hollywood pre y2k aside from major names like Prince or Queen. Even the apartments thing is accurate to history. This story makes me so fricken happy AHHHHHH

I don’t usually comment on YT vids even though I watch your videos religiously but I just wanna say thank you for sharing this with us. I can’t even explain my emotions after listening to this, your storytelling is amazing as usual. Out of everything, Harry’s death was the most devastating part for me because even though he was not Evelyn’s one great love, he was her soulmate at the deepest level. He cared for Evelyn for so long and more than anyone in her life. He deserved his happy ending but the world was unfair to him even until the end :(
