Am I the only that thinks that a woman should never ask a man to marry her? The fact that she says “How do I get the ring” just makes me cringe. I don’t think you should ever force/pressure a man to marry you. I wouldn’t wanna marry someone that only married me just to shut me up, I’d marry the man that would genuinely want me to be his wife. If he doesn’t wanna marry you and it’s been a certain amount of time, then leave. Just my opinion though.

I totally agree with you. We as women are always saying men need to step up to the plate, but some of us women make it easy for some men not to. I think Steve was just trying to spare her feelings by telling the man he already found his ideal woman. If he knew she was his ideal woman she would already be his wife. Like I stated before a man knows from jump. She will not leave or move out because she will put being worried about another woman taking her place over knowing that she is worthy of a gentleman who doesn't need an ultimatum to do the right thing by her. @Cole Turner Some women marry for love. It's usually women who aren't the most attractive who want love. Gorgeous women tend to be narcissistic and possibly dangerous. The reason for that being is the belief that looks can get them pleasure. I've never understood why gorgeous women will hurt a nice guy and make him bitter. Or maybe he's "afraid of marriage" because it's a contract that is heavily favored against men in western society. Maybe he doesn't want her to inevitably file for divorce and take everything he's worked for and then not be able to see his kids (if they ever have any) when she finds a way to legally stop him from seeing them in court. There is a reason marriage is on the decline and it's because men have gotten hip to and tired of the destruction it causes to their lives. When the contract is fixed and it isn't so heavily slanted against men, then and only then will we see marriage go back on the rise.

And as far as him being all that or not, how would you know? Looks-wise she's not on a higher level, they look the same to me, they're both 6's. And to be honest, he could definitely get a prettier girl especially if he has his own house and his money is right. Girl, my man told me on our first date that he was going to make me his wife. 8 months later we were married and several years in strong and we are still happily married. I never had to beg or demand. Treat each other with respect, dignity, loyalty and with love. Everything else will fall into place but don’t wait too long because a man will get complacent if you allow him to.

My Husband knew immediately he wanted to be Married, I wasn't ready. He proposed within 8 months, we Married two months later, and that was 11 Years ago. We are Deliriously happy. He is the best decision i ever made.

@@friedchicken894 - Unfortunately I have done it & learned the hard way not to ever do it again. After I made the decision to never do it again I met the man that would become my husband. We didn't live together until after we were married and have been happily married for 9 years now. Learning by heartache is hard but you don't forget the lesson.

My wife and I got engaged within 6 months after starting to date. I knew she was the woman for me and I was the man for her. We knew almost right away that we were meant to be together. We got married within a year later. She just wanted to finish college first. And I respected that. September will be 2 years, we have a beautiful daughter and a son on the way.

To be honest, that's a fair conversation. Clearly, you guys arent on the same page. However, that should have been something that you discussed in the early stages of your relationship. Is marriage something that you prioritize? Is marriage something that is your current goal? Is something is marriage something that you see happening with the RIGHT person within the next 2 to 3 years? We are all grown ass adults. We should be able to communicate our intentions. I date for the purpose of finding someone to marry. Marriage Is the thing that's on my list to do next. I'm going to spend my time getting to know someone and evaluating them for the purposes of marriage. Once I finish my evaluation, I will know my answer. All both parties need to know is that they're both working towards the same goal. You may not be the right person, but at least you can do the work and find out if you are.
A friend of mine, after living together for a few months, told the bf... "I want to get married, I want kids, I want a family, I want a house and I want a dog." One year after that, they were married, had a child and were renting a place together, however, because it wasn't meant to be, He was gone 6 months later. A lot of the time when someone has no ring it means they dodged problems. It doesn't mean they haven't already been there and done that.
