What did you expect her to do? Crash it? She put in the same hours and training as all her peers to get to that seat. I would expect her to perform no less. Much respect to her
I have a friend who was a 747 captain , then the airline got rid of their 747s so she became a 787 captain. She been flying for over 30 years. She started by flying tours through the Grand Canyon.
she was probably a seasoned female pilot. this one in the video, however, looks like she's 22 or something. for a 22 year old girl to land something that weighs over 200 tons is super shocking and impressive.
@@WAITINGFORMYJESUS yeah but still, she's very young for such a big plane. It's not her gender, it's her age. If it were a male pilot this young I would be equally surprised
I’m missing something here. Pilots are paid to fly aircraft. That includes taxiing, taking off, cruising and landing. What you have between your legs doesn’t dictate your ability to fly an aircraft.
@Truth Witness Newsflash. Women can be aeronautical engineers too Mr Sexist. Beginning with Elsie MacGill born 1905. She was an aircraft designer/aeronautical engineer.
These videos amaze me every time i watch one , i have flown before but this gives a whole different view and get to see the professional pilots that drive these huge birds ... and land them without breaking an egg !!! Much respect to the men and women who do this .
BRAVO! A big way to tell if someone is doing a fantastic job, is when they make it look easy, as though anyone could just step in and do it. --But, of course, we know that not everyone can. GREAT JOB, PILOT!!!
She’s a Boss for sure. I love it when I see ladies focused and taking on business like a Lioness. Such a great example for young girls around the world. 🙌🏾🙌🏾🙌🏾🙌🏾😄.
@@pdlifeisgood2102 Obviusly plenty of people did until they were retired. There are so many people out there that want to fly on iconic planes and careful choose their flights.
Great job, who would hit dislike on a successful landing of a large plane which brought a lot of people safely to the ground?, I see no reason to hit dislike on a job well done.
good job little missy! thanks for sharing. I live in NW Ark about 20 miles from XNA, we have a TON of aircraft (commercial) over our heads at most anytime. I have 3 s/w radios and 3 scanners and hear a LOT of lady pilots everyday, congratulations to all of you!
Aasrith Chennapragada every video with landings from the pilot seat , have the cockpit word in the tittle. go and ask pilots. If I am not right, my fault. I am sorry but I think you are wrong.
The 747 is a very easy, wonderful aircraft to fly! She did fine, just as she is expected to do. Her training and experience does that. Women have been flying for decades! Why is anyone surprised?
I am always astounded how do the pilots manage to read so many instruments, digest their inputs, and take appropriate decisions in split second? Requires great presence of mind I suppose. I suppose she is not exactly a novice. Must be a seasoned first officer.
It's a big answer, but if you were to play Flight Simulator for a while, with the instrumenation of an airliner, it would help you understand this a lot better. I dont mean that in any disrespectful way.
Please be reasonable. This pilot landed a 747 beautifully, correctly, and by the book in Atlanta. I bet most of you nay sayers can't find your way without your Garmin. This pilot deserves respect and she has my respect and admiration. Be kind, be respectful, give credit where credit is due. This lady pilot deserves our utmost respect.
@@brendancanavan2210 - I believe the comment I was responding to was removed by the commenter. This was over two years ago but I believe the commenter was being disrespectful to the First Officer because she is female. Not a reason to be disrespectful and besides that she is a fabulous pilot no matter the gender.
@@WayCoolDog The person who posted the video wasn't being disrespectful overtly but the title of the video as I said was was 'beautiful female pilot landed the big 747 jumbo' was a bit out of line. When do you ever hear of 'handsome pilot lands jumbo'. Everyone wants equal rights don't they so that was not equal rights. It's a human landing a plane, that's the bottom line.
Wow. I Work on that A/C, No Joke its the 4X-ICA from CAL.Its maintained by HAITEC in LGG.I Work there. Its making me Proud to See it working that beatifully. The Captains and basically all Staff are at good Relationship with us.Nice to Work with them.
Good job Captain! I just came back from Calgary yesterday to visit my family and this morning I prayed to thank God that I came back safe to my country, it was a long trip 11 hours, so I know the efforts the Captain and the whole team in any airlines are doing to bring us safe to our places but I don't know why some people are giving a number of dislikes to this video and some of them are giving a bad comments, you guys are very bad and have a very bad soul, you don't appreciate the Captain landing, you think it's easy to achieve this work, I want to remind you that the Captain is landing a 747 and with all the issues she handeled and the inexpected changes in weather, yes she did an outstanding work, she brought all passengers safe, what more do you expect! Please learn how to appreciate people's work to give you a good experience and stop your jealousy!
@@whalerlife53 PIC . Pilot In Command. As such she is in charge of the flight but the Captain in the left seat has oversight on this flight. Ease up petal, no need to get upset. 👍😀🇦🇺
Nice landing. I do however, enjoy to see the professionalism and sterile cockpit at this important phase of the flight. Keep flying and happy tailwinds!
Actually the minimums on approach confirm flap setting on decent and 10 - 5 to help her to ready speed brakes - yes she has the training or she would not do the 747-400 great filming
And why wouldn't she do exactly that? She's had the same training as everyone else and simply wouldn't be there if landing 747's wasn't an integral part of her skills set.
It is amazing and wonderful that now women are in all the professions that were previously believed unattainable or very difficult for them congratulations landing excellent and wonderful the pilot
Great job! I just love those rare 5 call-outs. Had a few myself. What's ironic is that all of mine came after potential stressful occurrences, i.e., smoke in the cockpit, single-engine landing during minimums, or unsafe landing gear indications. Pilot! What can you say? 😎✈🌍
I have a friend who flies 747-400 and he landed many times in this rwy. This rwy is actually very short for a 747-400. Many times 747 pilots request a longer rwy to land in Atlanta.
well, this flight probably came from Ben Gurion since it is an Israeli plane, and the longest runway there is 13,326ft, the shortest 9,120ft, they probably are already trained for those lengths
You must not be a 747 pilot or much less an airline pilot. 9000 ft is way more than necessary. Last time I landed in Atlanta in a 747 from AMS it needed 4500ft total which included 1500ft as the latest touchdown point and we had a full load of passengers. Mmmmmmm. Sounds like you are an armchair pilot at best....
@@reltney20 What I said is that a pilot told me that was short in his opinion. I personally saw many 747 cargo requesting landing on a longer rwy what you can easily confirm any day watching Flight Radar 24. I am actually a professor, researcher, and consultant in airport planning and design. I work at ATL. Pilots have different training and different companies have different procedures. Some pilots feel comfortable landing during storms others don't.
Great!her landing da plane so smoothly without any issues reflects noodles of her self-confidence,a must 4 every woman irrespective of her profession&even if she is not working. No compromise on being confident.Suman
@@MartinGonzalez-qm8mw I'm a 56 year-old woman and had to replace the light housings on the front of my car. My friend, a male the same age, was watching and helping. The car has been in an accident and so it was a bit off. And made it very difficult to get the light housings in. Three times he struggled to muscle in sections, and I finished it for him each time. He was a little annoyed. He was supposed to be in better shape than I was. I don't even exercise.
In 1998, I landed the 777 twice at Boeing Field on the Boeing 777 simulator, once on a foggy night. The simulator was the most advanced on in the world at the time. The instructor said, "Those were great landings." He then asked me, "How many hours you got?" When I told him, "Four hours 25 years ago," he about fell out of the simulator. He next asked, "How did you know what you were doing?" I replied, " I grew up reading Boeing airliner magazine." This was a magazine that Boeing sent out to airline pilots. My dad always brought home the latest edition for me to read.
Cap. You can learn about flying procedures from reading a magazine…maybe. But you can’t learn about flying unless you’re actually flying an aircraft or a sim. By the way, I flew the possibly same 777s simulator as you.
That is the first time EVER I heard the callout of "5." Why is that? Is the anomaly because of the plane or because of the pilot? Great job landing, but just asking...
@@zacariasblanco9738 increasingly you do. But we weren't talking about construction work. Men tend to be bigger than women. But you don't need to be big to fly an aircraft.
My best friend from my Navy air wing just retired as a 747 captain with one of the major airlines. He said it is incredibly easy to land a whale under normal circumstances. Anybody could learn to do it. The reason 747 pilots get big bucks is for when the you-know-what hits the fan.
But nobody gets to that seat unless you are good at science- physics to be exact and maths and they thought that you would be good enough to do intense training. Its calked having brains dear
Great vid loved it thanks for sharing. Nice smooth landing good pilot irrespective of gender and rightly so. Interesting how society over the last few years still makes a big deal about gender, race whatever and then complains about people who mention it? Brill vid however my good lady did observe “the first officer could do with tying her hair up neatly, I wouldn’t get away with that in my uniform”😄
The manual is built into the glass displays in the cockpit. Before they would allow you to even touch any of these switches and buttons, you would have to be trained over and over and then flown the simulator successfully.
male or female they need to qualify and pass 2 year course, exam, practical to be first officer after 2000 flying hrs they become senior first officer captain rank will come in time no doubt after that
