You can tell Emmie has been grinding hard she's showing crazy improvements! Also your coaching style seems really cool and encouraging, loving this series!
NOT KIDDING. I have been playing RL since 2016 and im plat 1. I could NOT for the life of me do anything off the wall. I have watched video after video on how to do it. Today i sat down for lunch and went through youtube to see what I was gonna watch while i eat and i saw this so i watched it. Im not joking when i said i pulled out my laptop at work, started up RL, connected my controller and I DID MY FIRST OFF THE WALL AIR DRIBBLE IN UNDER 10 MINUTES! These steps helped SO much! So thank you and now all i wanna do is air dribble. 😂
Not gonna lie to have someone near the same rank as me getting tought by you is amazing and I feel like I'm learning along with her. Thank you for helping me too CBell.
This has to singlehandedly be the best series to learn from on youtube, everything is laid out so meticulously unlike every single other tutorial there is out there wow
This is probably weirdly the most helpful guide because of how you split it up into sections . I’m finding it much easier to understand and follow. Thanks 👍
that was the hope! I'm glad you were able to find some good info in there, was worried it was a lot of word vomit, but I wanted to keep it pure to what I was teaching Emmie in real time
@@CBellRL You call it word vomit, I call it live feedback. It's infinitely more useful to see something like this where you give live feedback to someone struggling through their first attempts at dribbling. You break down the process and explain it extremely well. Most stuff I've seen is people who are masters at this going through the motions, but they already have it down to a science and that fails to show how they actually got there. This is pure gold, pardon the pun. And wholesome! I love what you have going on here and can't wait to see more! And I'll be on the lookout for Emmie in my games (hoping she is on my team though if this does happen xD)
Absolutely LOVE this series! Feels like I'm improving with Emmie, and getting coached by CBell at the same time. I've never been a mechanical player, but between this and Tenacity's "teach a friend how to play RL" series, I'm, feeling more and more mechanical everyday. This makes freeplay more fun and enjoyable when I don't want to play games. You're a great coach CBell keep up the good work!
Wow this was wholesome. This makes me remember that it was only a few months ago that my air dribbles were 1 or 2 touches and now I'm able to consistently carry the ball across the field and double tap after putting time into it
I was never good at air dribbles and never did it even once. Then I found this video, opened it on my second monitor and started playing freeplay. in 10th minute I realised now I can air dribble... What the HELLL. It was much easier than I thought!!! I'm D1 in 2s and 3s and now looks like I'm gonna rank up! What an amazing video this is! probably the best tutorial I've ever watched. thx for everything.
Dude I spent a month learning how to Air Dribble (not on my own), but I never seemed to get the hang of it. Somehow, I managed to actually start getting comfortable and more consistent with it which is progress I haven't seen, and it's all thanks to watching you teach Emmie. Thank you so much for making this series!
Cbell this is so helpful I can’t even tell you. I’m like 50 years old and my son has been a grand champ since he’s like 10 and I’ve been stuck in gold/plat. This helps so much.
Bro CBell! This series is incredible! ive been hard Stuck C2-C3 for over a year now and finally getting some good consistent advice on mistakes i could be doing is great. i will also be practicing these tips so i can finally hit GC!
I love this series, CBell! Not only entertaining to see someone progress from the lower ranks but showing how you help them progress, it’s like soft coaching for all of us. Respect.
This is the best off-the-wall air dribble tutorial I've seen. Really breaks it down. I'm Diamond 2 currently and I'm thinking my ability on the wall will help me a lot in raising my rank further. Thanks a lot for this!
wow, so i have to say no one has ever explained how to air dribble like you did in this video. i typically hover around C1/C2 for the past 3 years and i have never learned any advanced mechanics, i can say today that after practicing for about 30mins or so i was finally able to hit some air dribbles about 30% of the time in Free Play. THANK YOU SO MUCH!
As someone who's getting outclassed by his first grader and Emmie, this is helping me SO HARD. Thank you for how nuts and bolts you're being in the video and showing the reps. God I would love to do this one day.
just gotta put in the work man, just try over and over again. i started working on it maybe a month ago, had air dribbles down consistently in the first week, and then added the air rolling the next week, and now I’m able to pretty much air dribble off any part of the field from any angle!
Just came back to this video to say THANK YOU! I wasn't going to play today, but your easy directions with her motivated me to hop in free play. Took like 5 mins, all I needed was those little details.
i'm a gold player and this helped me so much, it took me almost two hours but step by step it worked out better and better. IMO the most important part to be successful to hit ur first multi touch is at 7:50 he makes it very clear how to rotate and hit the ball. I watched it in 0.25 speed to see exactly where he jumps and starts almost instant the rotation. That was my "I GOT IT" moment. I directly clipped this and sent to my friends :) thx emmie and cbell
I was trying every air dribble, aerials and that kind of tutorial I could find and none of them seemed to help me and sometimes it felt like I was getting worse and worse. But I saw this when I opened yt and tried learning again from scratch and this is the best air dribble video I’ve ever seen and it totally works. You’re the best coach I’ve seen yet and I loved how you broke down the step and it made perfect sense, it’s like it just clicked and I could suddenly do air dribbles😁 I couldn’t ask for a better video.
I've been air dribbling for about 4 years now and I had no idea what I was doing right or wrong. It's actually crazy I was able to setup at all without this critical knowledge. She did such a great job!
I watched this with the biggest smile on my face. It’s like when your non gamer sister plays a platformer and celebrates over making it through levels that you breeze through. It’s a weird happiness😅
I just wanna say... Almost a year after you created this series and I'm still coming back to it and sharing it with friends. I love your breakdown of the skills, and your methodical way of explaining... it expanded my brain horizons! 🤯 also, happy birthday?
i love seeing unedited versions of this, I'd honestly love if these were longer, I'd sit through the entire way I love seeing the natural progression without major cuts
Oh Cbell when you were talking about the air rolling in the air dribble I remembered something from a squishy video I saw a while ago. Basically you use default airroll and put your left stick in between down and the side of your wall that you’re on, if that makes sense. So on the left wall you put your left stick in between directly down and directly left, for right wall it’s between down and right. Anyways hope this helps any lower ranked players out there. ❤
It feels like a Netflix show! I'd love to watch more and more episodes. Season 2 is either another player or GC to SSL. Good luck Emmie massive improvement!
Bro this is a truly amazing video, Your patientce and positive reinforcement was refreshing. Such a great coach !! This helped me tremendously, and good Luck Emmie congrats!!!
I already know how to air dribble pretty well, but the way you describe and break it down actually made me realize some things I could improve on like the angle for the set up. Need you to explain flip resets because those are what I'm struggling on big time lol
Currently C1 and I never really got the hang of air dribbling. I do it sometimes for fun in freeplay but I never became consistent enough to give it a try in game. I've watched a few videos, even one you (CBell) have made in the past, and it never really clicked for where I am mechanically. The tutorials always had too many details to focus on at the start, so I couldn't wrap my head around proper implementation. This step by step formula for setting up a air dribble is great! It's straightforward enough that I was able to get a multi touch dribble after 3 tries, and flexible enough that I could start seeing how to apply the steps in game. I really appreciate being able to watch someone else learn it as well! I get a sense of how much deviation from the steps will still work, and what is just going to mess up the dribble. I don't think I'll be scoring air dribbles anytime soon, but this is a great starting point for figuring out how to build consistency and learn the finer details of air dribbling. Now that I've seen this tutorial, I notice CBell uses the same setup for starting air dribbles in his Grand Champ to Supersonic Legend challenge. It looks like even at high levels of play, enough space will be created to allow you to complete the setup for an airdribble.
I saw this comment today and after first section of the comment i said "yeah, i got gc 3 times without any idea how to air dribble and im mostly (like 95%) a solo player, just the game-reading skills get me there or what?". I can prove that without skills in air u can get a gc3d1/gc3d3 but u will be a hard stuck there if u dont know mechanics in air. Im really curious how i can achieve gc without air drib.
This video is a great step up from the previous one for someone like me who's learning alongside. I would love a video in this style about replay analysis.
Congrats to her. On your side on the other hand, I am pretty stunned that you are so bold to actually call this a learned air dribble. If she only hit a couple of them it does not mean she learned to air dribble, it just means she got a couple of them right, but still probably will mess a very high % of the times she would try this in game.
The fact that she got that good at airdribbling in so little time is impressive. And that without airrolling through the airdribble which imo makes it way easier. Much respect! So invested in this serie!
After I lost 31 to 30 to the pro with a 30 to 0 lead, I stopped playing lol. I tried practicing but life got in the way. This video has me excited to play again so thanks for sharing. Gotta build my new PC asap!
I'm Plat 3 with basic aerial off the wall skill but I thought I'm very far away from doing Air Dribble. This video gave me motivation to atleast try this basic version. In 1 day I can now do 1 tap and sometimes 2 taps. Scared of what I can do in a month. Thanks so much!!!
Took me so long to learn to airdriblle. I would just spend an hour or so everytime I played just trying over and over in free play and when I finally got it I was so pumped.
i cri played the game 6 ish years ago with old ranking system i was in the elo between rising star and superstar and learned this over a rrrrlllyy long timespan the last time i played rocket league was around tht time well nice to see that ppl actually do rly good guides :x
I haven't played rocket league in a bit but this makes me wanna go load it up as soon as I'm home lol. I can't air dribble and just a few of the tips at the spacing and set up part already taught me a lot. Keep these up! Maybe I'll be able to air dribble from this.. one day.. lol
Bro! Ive been playing off and on since 2016 and have yet tried doing a air dribble lol This video made me want to practice it and i can tell i can do it if i practice a few more hours! This video helped me do it! Thank you so much man! Ive been in diamond forever but never really tried pushing bc i just play whenever i can.
This has to be the best series ever , it’s really entertaining and fun to see someone learn the game and I also learn from these videos so I hope to see a lot more of this series even after Emmie hits GC
I found that I’m improving by using directional air roll to come off the wall and rapidly feather the boost to get that controlled first touch on the ball in the air.
Im so invested in this series, especially cuz I was hard stuck silver for like 2 years and I just hit plat 3 the other day and I’m afraid to mess it up 😂
First time trying this. Me and my friend started playing and ranking up like november last year and we hit plat in june this year, and while playing 3's i realised i want to carry the ball in the air. This video was really helpful, fast results i just need to be more consistent. However i dont have as much experience as other people it feels like.
Just watch your video and say thank you! I found what I did incorrectly and start praticing. I know the basics but this video really show me correct the wrong thing I do
Yo CBell, I took a look at her stream and notice one issue she keeps having. It seems like she needs more practice with awareness of her cars turning radius. Like if the ball is a couple feet to her right, she'll make this big sweeping turn and ends up missing it rather than tapping drift to get a sharper turn and successfully make contact. It feels like she doesn't know how wide her car turns especially when boosting, and needs practice knowing when to drift to get sharper turns. I had the same issue that I eventually grew out of naturally, but if you focus it a bit I think she can fix that quickly. Maybe some training packs where she NEEDS to use a little bit of drift to make contact?
Great video really enjoyed watching and also helped me a lot to start with air dribble basics. I'm able to go to diamond 3 as long i get decent tm8s and I feel i need this skill to practice if i want to get to grand champion 🏆
I think her being hard on herself is good. It's good that she is disappointed in a decent shot but wants it to be better. This will keep her improving for awhile.
I would add another step between 2 and 3, and is jumping and airroll in the perfect position WITHOUT the ball. It is so much easier than try to aim for the ball, and once you get that muscle memory there is no difference with doint it with the ball. I teach that way to my friends and they get that part super fast.
