I think whats throwing me off about these dolls is that the face sculpt looks a little too realistic for the head + body proportions?? Like I wouldn’t necessarily say they’re ugly, but there’s something uncanny about them 👀
I know people are like "this doll isn't mad she's disappointed" but they got it Wrong. This doll is mad and she's happy you've made her mad because she's about to release her repressed anger out on you and you alone
I have two art squad dolls. I have nene and Andi. I think Andi works the best with the style because she is inspired by pop art and so the odd proportions work the best with that theme
That thumbnail was a jump scare. I was lying in bed, opened YT and this was the first thing I see. Had to put the phone away and get breakfast before coming to watch 🤣I think it's the nasolabial folds? Is that why it's freaky? They're still $30 here from Amazon, so I'm not going to get myself murdered in my sleep, thanks.
Oh man, you are always so nice and positive! That said, I was scrolling through Amazon and saw something that immediately made me think of this vid. "I'm a Girly" dolls. They are easily among some of the most horrific fashion dolls I've seen. Art Squad is adorable in comparison. (Which, thanks so much for the review, as an artist the theme really appealed to me but I wasn't sure about them.)
She reminds me of Trollz it's a hair thing! dolls from around 2005 (?), they had similar faces - I mean, most of them looked friendly, but Onyx looked like she was judging everything and finding it pitiful. But overall, I think there were/are some uglier/creepier lines (Boxy Girls, Unique Eyes, Snapstar).
the head shape alone sends me, why is her head so massive? I mean bratz have massive heads and are heavily stylized...but yeah hell no to the art squad gals

Another one is Dusty from the 70s she had the tag line of World's most beautiful doll. This doll doesn't have a bad concept it just needed a better face.
