I’m going to go with the FL accepting the proposal of the second ML, as it indicates her self worth, self esteem and strength not to look back. More dramas should end with the FL getting together with the second ML to send a moral message.

Because he is the ML! Most of the time it's male producers, directors, and maybe even writers so the ML can't end as the bad guy in a complete way. It's a societal code due to the hierarchical structure.
