I was fortunate enough to see this four times. The first time at Roundabout and then three times when it moved to Broadway. Every single performance was absolutely gorgeous, heartbreaking, funny and transcendent. Best musical musical production I've ever seen, and I've seen quite a LOT.
It's so great seeing these bits of this production. As much as I enjoyed the livestream of the current Broadway production, and all the cast in it, I get the feeling the emotions were more fully conveyed in this one, and various little bits of humor came across better. Either way, it's such a wonderful show!
The credit I give to Scott Ellis was that for the 2016 revival, it wasn’t a carbon copy of his original production in ‘93 unlike the revival of Cabaret in 2014 which is literally the same production.
