While I understand everyone’s fury and the fact Simone has known Tommy since he was little. If she really was her best friend, you could’ve at least listened to what she had to say. Because Tommy wanted Simone to go with him to Europe, but she never did! It was always Tommy pursuing as well and by that point, he was an adult. He knew what he wanted. Everything was warranted, but I wish she could’ve tried to listen to her first and then she can decide whether she wants to keep being angry. lol. If u watch the show it can also be said that while the mother feels what she feels her best friend was hitting rock bottom when the young boy pursued her. Have find out her husband is having affairs and not just that he is also gay. High means her entire relationship was a lie. She had no one to give her the romantic love she so desired. And just in that moment this young boy comes in starts giving her the attention and making her feel special. To which she didn’t agree to at first but gave in. She shouldn’t have done that. But the reaction of the mother and the treatment of this poor Karl is horrific.

The mother was a horrible friend from the start. Had the mom perhaps told Simone two yrs earlier about Karl’s affair Simone wouldn’t have felt betrayed or alone. Simone felt friendless in a vulnerable moment when she has no one cause now not only is het marriage a lie but also he’s gay so that’s going to affect your self esteem hard. Tommy relentless pursuing her and him now being legal after feeling betrayed by her supposed best friend is the only reason Simone has a lapse in judgment. She didn’t break any laws nor did she groom Tommy. The mother just needed a reason to be full on enemy cause before this she came off as a frenemy that even Tommy didn’t want anything to do with her. Tommy’s mother didn’t have to like Simone and Tommy being together but she had to respect that her son is old enough to make his own choices. The mother just wants to control and is a mean girl trying to act innocent. She’s not holding herself accountable for her own actions for being a bad friend to Simone.
