Hey guys! Today's video is a cook with me style vlog, day in the life of a single mom 2019. I made a yummy and healthy chicken dinner, we went to the book store, played in the snow, tested out my new Nespresso machine and talk about how Sydney needs more to do. I think she's going through growth spurt and some developmental changes. I would like to find some structured gymnastics and dance classes for her to do this winter as she has been wanting me to play with her constantly. which is fine and amazing but of course I can't do that ALL day long. @@TresChicMama Remember she's only 2 all the other kids will be similar age. Don't put that pressure on you both :) my son is similar age and plays up sometimes at swimming and mini sports but other times is really good

Hayley, since y'all are cabin fever this time of year, I suggest getting Sydney involved in housework, laundry folding, toy pick up, vaccuuming, etc. My son loves being my helper and it keeps him "around me" and gets stuff done.

My son is also wanting constant playtime with me. Both my nieces did gymnastics and ballet around the age of three. They were also doing preschool a few days a week. Where we live there are a lot of preschool options they attended a school out of a church which was more affordable.

One of my twins is in the wanting mama 24/7 phase and he has a playmate that's his age. I just think it typical for toddlers. And just saying I'd love if you would do your outfit of the day, adore your style !

Omg I am in the same boat with my 2 year old!! This is why I love these videos because it helps knowing you’re not alone. My daughter is with me 24/7 and I’m starting to feel a little guilty about it because someone made a comment to me about it last night and now I am questioning myself, ugh. BUT she is extremely smart like Sydney and I will stand by that it is because (like you) her mama is teaching her things, etc. I don’t know if you have a YMCA by you but today I went to the gym and sent her to the daycare there for some separation for an hour and it went well, so maybe you could consider something like that to benefit the both of you. But I feel your pain girl with getting stuff done etc, etc, etc.

Your amazing!! Parenting is all about trials and errors. Winter is rough for our boys as well. They don’t have outside available on a daily basis as that outlet to burn off energy. We have to find a lot of creative ways for them to be able to have that physical activity.

Made this dinner tonight I had to it’s in the oven now I’m excited about it lol! I did Italian pasta instead of quinoa though and omg I got the fresh mozzarella but at my store it’s almost $6 idk what it is at your store but I felt like that was crazy! I’m excited to try it!

Just a suggestion. How about a Mother’s morning out class ? Most churches have those and it’s like $20 at most a day , no contracts , come as you please / as needed . I say this because I am a teacher for MMO . 😍

Awww thats was so cute her kissing your cheek it make it feel better my little girl does that too. Sydney does look older in that snow suit I think its crazy that Sydney and my little girl are super close in age anf my girl is in 4t it makes her look so much older than she is its nuts. Put her in gymnastics would be great for you guys and so much fun. I've thought of putting my little one in swimming lesson because she loves the water so much shes like a fish and jumps in the water without a vest and so its necessary for me lol.

My daughter has a 1 year old brother but what has helped is preschool she started at 3 she’s been in it since August. It’s a church school and it’s $170 per month but you can get financial help up to half off of it if needed. It has helped her so much! She’s learned so much! Things she won’t listen to me with they can teach her! So maybe look into church preschools if you haven’t they are the best. She will stay in that school until she is 5 and my son will start next year he desperately needs the structure! And my baby girl is being born in June so that will give me a nice break to have alone time with my second daughter when they go back to school in August

Have you looked to see if there’s any mommy groups around you? Like mom & tots, stroller strides that sort of thing? Or maybe a moms morning out program?

Tiny ruffles boutique! That’s where I get all of my daughters clothes they are on Facebook but have a website however she just recently got a new website so getting to it through her Facebook is best plus she does sezzle so payments! She gets new outfits everyday and they go fast! So cute though! I’ve been a customer for a year now! There’s also sparkle in pink and dash of glitter that are great too but I feel tiny ruffles is best for me her website is not as chaotic and she has great sales!

A few ideas for Sydney that I thought of you can take or leave...church- our church has a kids program and events for kids to play together on a regular basis or a pet to take care of. Just some thoughts...don't worry too much though it's healthy to not always have something going on, it helps creativity.

Did you check out your local YMCA or community center for any classes? Maybe even like swim lessons or something? Idk, trying to think. We’re in Michigan so I get the ridiculously cold winter.

My 2.5yr old won't play by himself at all. He does chores with me when I do them. My 15mth old is so much better playing alone. It does make me a little crazy. Don't worry about a sibling because they still barely play together (unless I'm there to mediate) lol I constantly have guilt about them being bored because we have a teeny tiny house and it's also really cold here. Plus I can't afford classes and even if I could I have no one to help with my little one

Does that Barnes & Noble you went to have any age-appropriate activities? What about toddler-mom yoga or a toddler singing class since she likes music so much? Is there a city or community page online that might be of use to you that would post children activities? Also, do you have any independent bookstores featuring children’s books and/or children’s storytelling? How far are you from a library? That might be worth an outing once a month or every other month depending on the drive. Also, sorry to keep talking and talking...one more thing -> Contact a pre-K program and ask about any local toddler programs or who you can get in touch with locally that might be able to tell you more.

Maybe put her in a dance class? My daughter danced from 3 years all the way until she graduated high school. I live in Northern Ohio so I get how awful winters can be.

It could be TMJ..my grandma and mom both have it so I have it but it doesn't usually flare up unless I am stressed..it usually goes away on its own after I have done some stress relief!

There may be a Facebook group for moms in your neighborhood... I found mine in my city and its great! You can plan play dates, get ideas of new things to do and get info for future school/ gymnastic classes etc. its a great way to meet new moms and get some more info! :) good luck!

Would you be able to add the recipes to the description box? Also, what temp did you cook the chicken at? ALSO, for your jaw, try out a chiropractor! I worked for one and would always get my jaw adjustment because of my TMJ.

Love your cooking segments, which are probably good for you to be getting actual work done. Yes, Sydney could use dance, gymnastics or martial arts, like taekwondo, which teach the elegant body disciplines, ability to have the strength and agility needed for self-defense along with the character/spiritual values of integrity et al that will help her in future sports pursued. Aren't roasted veggies just the best? Even roasted garlic is so sweet. I take it that the boil bag is porous in which you did the quinoa, so it actually does make a big difference to use chicken broth? I had never seen those bags for quinoa. If your jaw is out of position, you need to go to a dental surgeon and have him put it back in place. If your shoulder were out of socket, you would need professional help to get it done to be able to use it properly. You do not want to be adding to the problem by not chewing properly and maybe wearing away bone. Even if it's TMJ that requires help. But it sounds like getting kneed in the jaw by Sydney is what did it. Get help. Well, isn't it special that your public library built a perfect little stage for Sydney to dance upon? LOL. Dancing Queen or Tiny Dancer. How many days a week is the gymnastics? If it is one day, you can go to the library another day and perhaps go to a local Y (YM/WCA) for swimming on another day, so that there would be a M-W-F plan outside the home for a period of a few hours.

Don't feel bad. My daughter has two half sisters and a lot of times, she still wants me to only play with her even when they are around. So even if she had siblings, she might still choose only you. My daughter is a few months older than Sydney

Oh it happens to me my son play with me and hurt my left side face or chin that's so hurt! It took me almost a week to bite or eat like normal. Poor mama :(

Maybe try and make it her only option for a few times? I never let my sons walk and they always rode great. However, if my husband goes they try to act crazy because he gives in and let's them walk 😒

Random but do you still have your wisdom teeth? I hurt my jaw a few years ago and the pain wouldnt go away and my dentist suggested getting my wisdom teeth out! They had never bothered me before. I remember I couldn't even bite down it hurt so bad 😫

Tracy Roland I’m actually going to watch a child on snow days so that will be fun for Sydney! It’s not really an option to do it more often since I do need to work from home though
