My thoughts: There is a reason why Allah has put men as financial head of home and women as caretaker of home. There is nothing wrong in going 50/50 only if men shares the 50% of home chores, taking care of kids and the responsibility of their upbringing. Western communities are destroyed due to one of this reason because women there are obliged to earn, do all the home chores and to take care of the kids. Some things are better the way they are given to us by Allah(islam). When at start you’re saying it all lightly that we can go 50/50 financially, later on becomes obligatory for women to contribute with having the responsibility of home chores and kids. Its Amazing how islam has blessed women so much with their rights. Just a thought ✌🏻🕊️

I think the choice of words is critical here. It's not an outdated tradition. Considering we ascribe to the religion of Islam, it is man's duty to finance all his partner's expenses. It is actually wife's rights among many rights and responsibilities. And yes wife's income solely belongs to her and her only and she is not compelled to use it for family expenditures. If a wife chooses to do so nothing wrong in that but given women already have heavy responsibility of carrying and nurturing child and looking after the house that our religion does not put additional responsibilities on their shoulder as well. While things are rapidly changing and splitting finances is extremely common here in the west and nobody makes a huge fuss about it and it's not confined to sharing finances but also sharing child/housekeeping responsibilities which is rather uncommon in desi households.

Totally agree with this concept… It’s an amazing feeling for a wife also to be giving rather than be on the receiving end… Husband and wife are equal in all aspects of life and there is no harm in wife paying the bills or treating her Husband. Im also a working woman and I love to help my husband as much as i can as he always pampers me and if i can ease my husband’s burden’s then why not.. Its all about a clear mindset, love and understanding… We need to implement this alot in our society.

50 50 percent theory is absolutely right but it should not restricted to money only but rest household responsibility also. taking care of kids is both the parents job so is the household chores. its only fair when a woman work she goes outside the house and is absent from home and come back tired equally as the man gets. in Pakistan men have really high standards when it comes to responsibility of women only unfortunately.
