Once I had a dream that dodie and I had a sleepover and the next morning we went out for brunch and there was a giant sculpture of a yellow fork outside, upon which she turns to me as we stand in awe of this house-sized fork and says “Isn’t that just beautiful. I want to find art like this everywhere I go.” And now that’s become my life mission: to find art everywhere I go.

There’s something so beautiful about Dodie in the first half with a bare face, a spot clearly visible, and her hair unstyled. It’s just her. Dodie is very pretty when she puts on makeup and does her hair and wears fancy clothing, but there’s something special about the way she looks without all of it. It makes her more real somehow.

This videos is MASSIVELY wholesome. Not that I take joy out of anyone’s anxieties, worries, insecurities or terrors. But it’s such a breath of FRESH AIR. To see and hear that someone you look up to goes through the same shit you do. I have been watching vlog after vlog where people are going to the Bahamas or Fiji, running around buying Christmas decor, doing winter clothing hauls and all that jazz (all power to them, wonderful for them!) and I wind up feeling bummed, jealous even. Dodie is one of the only people who genuinely spills out every angle of her life, good and bad. THAT MAKES ME FEEL OK! Also her glasses are rlly cute.

I had my wisdom teeth out a couple weeks ago and I felt the EXACT SAME WAY. I have such a fear of losing consciousness and it’s so weird. At one point I was even afraid of falling asleep because I couldn’t wrap my head around the idea of not being conscious. Anyway, I’m glad someone else understands how I feel.

I stopped from doing my math homework for watching this video.

you mentioned exercise and i wanted to share this thing just for the sake of it. i wasnt able to bring myself to regularly exercise either for a really long time and i felt really bad about my bod because of it but i started stretching instead! my friend can do the splits and i really wanted to do them as well so i literally found a routine on pinterest and did them for like ten minutes each day. im a lot more flexible now and i can almost do the splits!! my body hasnt changed, i still look the same and i still weigh the same, but doing something to take care of my body was really nice and i felt better about myself. im an artist and often its a lot of sitting still and thinking so stretching was a way i could do something with my body without losing motivation like i do with exercise! what you mentioned sounded similar to how i felt so i hope you can find a good method as well. thank you for sharing, dodie, as always.

As someone dealing with social anxiety and depression the diaries part made me chuckle. I totally relate to this and have had very similar scenarios of trying all these different ways to try and improve and failing at all those things after a while. Just keep up the fight and keep trying new ways of dealing with it all. I recently tried mindfulness meditation and so far it's working fairly well.

These videos are so WONDERFUL and chill and I don’t really see stuff like this very often?? Just talking about your day and stuff to whoever chooses to listen. It’s like chatting idly with an old friend and it’s the most relaxing thing to me. I don’t know, and something about the vibe and aesthetic really makes me smile
