Like the rising sun, Coop rises with a Leica M6 no less. For all the shade thrown towards the Leicas, the experience of using a film Leica for me at least has been unsurpassed. Really glad to see you with the M6 in hand. Stay frosty Coops !!
Yes: Leica M3 and MA user , I cannot help myself , just leaving the digital SONY's in the DOMKE bag ....and the F1 DOMKE has the Leica's in it. Love them.
Coop , I got my M3 from a buyer that had it CLAD by KANTO in Japan , my M3 is a Buddha Ear , but single stroke , yes they did make that one year... the camera is flawless and it operates even smoother in the Film loading and feel in the advance than the MA Leica , I know the spindle in the M3 is suppose to be fiddly however I have had no issues once my big hands get trained. I have huge hands too. I like the Panda M6 , still like the original all metal levers though. I never cared for the film reminder though I know they had to put it on the metered M's I just like brass and metal. Still the Panda is lovely . Enjoy her.
I have had the leica m6ttl with the .85 finder. I have been using my leica m3 much more. I mostly dont regret selling it because I really just use a sekonic meter anyways. plus if I want to use a in camera meter I just pick up my f2sb or fm2. glad you got the m6 again. I know the feeling of missing it! I miss mine from time to time.
I have the M6TTL. I use it! Any SLR of 70's canon A series, Nikon-F, Fe etc, Pentax K1000, Spotmatic (usually no meter) all are equal to my M6! Zone focus easy, as all older lenses are engraved, with distance! You know it's really only good to do 5x7" Prints! That's what Oscar Barnack was sriving to replace! The 5x7" plate camera...
Great vid. Glad to see you have an M back in your life. Do you have any recommendations on where to get a cla on an m6 these days? I am on the east coast of Aus.
I agree, it can just be plan ol fun to try different cameras, move on etc. congrats on this beauty! Not interested in getting back with a m7? Asking for a friend who has a m2 and m6 classic and can’t shake the thought of a m7. My poor friend.
“Wank factor”. lol Glad you acquired another one! I had trouble watching this because my eyes kept getting drawn to the un-lensed Nikon on your shelf and all the silent screaming in my head re: dust entering your camera. lol
@@shootswithcoops Man, that EL and EL2 were my dream Nikons as a kid in the 70s. Nikon quality with a stepless shutter-pure magic! And thanks for telling me; it will keep me from hyper-ventilating on subsequent films. 😀
Maybe it’s an Australia thing because in europe the prices came down after the peak earlier in this year Anyway, glad you got one again. The video where you had to restart and sell all was difficult to watch, but now you are back at it 🫡
