#AutismRockz Family ...but totally appropriate, as was the slow shake of the head. Her nonverbal communication is on point, but could subtext as translation. I’m thinking “ugh, why did I stay up so late watching reruns of Kim Possible?” or “do not THINK about putting me on camera today, Dad!” 😂
OMG, that opening shot was priceless!! Her new hairstyle just plays up that sass too, doesn't it? Even her giggle when you told her not to leave yet. Lawdy, teens!!
What do you mean?! That haircut is Gorgeous 😍 on her!! She's beautiful! Well beautiful anyways, but even more Soo like that!! WhoOo almost didn't recognize her 💋💕🥰💋💓 @#8:27 ... Side profile!! WHoOoo!! Model material there 💋💋🏅🏆
My niece is 13 (same age as Abby) and she is autistic. She's not really verbal and her motor skills aren't too good. She has a hard time opening water bottles and brushing her teeth but she is my FAVORITE human ever. She is so pure and kind. She reminds me of Abby so much. I wish y'all lived in Texas maybe they could be friends
I'm actually working with someone with autism right now. He's not as capable as Abby, but my job is to make sure that he stays safe and I can help him have an enjoyable time
Sarah Johnson the best thing is to figure out the ways they communicate. You want to communicate on their level. If they use a device to talk, figure out that device and how much receptive language they understand. Also, I think the best thing is to know their current abilities. For example, you don’t want to ask them their favorite foods if they barely know how to identify a food. I worked as an ABA therapist for this past year
mightybfool C ...I take up to 15 tablets at once, if I took them 1 at a time I would get very bloated with all that liquid. It certainly took a bit of practice. Keep trying everyone.
@@fatheringautism I just watched this vlog and was so scared u was gonna break your camera lol. I had to remind myself that u got the footage so it cant have broke lol
Abbie is definitely a teenager! Lol! Priscilla, the brow color actually matches you really well, it’s just hard to get used to seeing it yourself with darker brows. It took me a good week of wearing it before I got it down pat and was comfortable wearing it.
Mireya Segura thank you! I am so excited. I am currently a DSP. I know that being an ABA is my calling. My heart is full when someone is able to use the Microwave on their own or measure out milk. The smile and happiness I see on their face, makes my heart full. They teach me that despite opticals in the road, life is still worth living for.
Just don't get into the abusive stuff, please. From an autistic person who is ridiculed by both other autistics for being too tolerant of ABA and also by the pro-ABA crowd for being too anti-ABA, please don't hurt your clients. Stim suppression is disgusting, but it sees widespread use by ABA therapists. Be the change in ABA that lets each side come together. I know people who endured 30 hours of therapy a week, and the stim suppression made them more violent and angry, and it took a long time to undo the damage that ABA did to them. There are ABA therapists who support Autism Speaks and genuflect to the wishes of parents of autistic people, without consideration of the child's wishes. ABA can be used well, so please help that to happen. Good luck in your future career!
noahconstrictor100 I appreciate you taking the time to reply to our conversation. I will never fully understand what you go through but I can tell you that I will never abuse anyone. I am sorry if you have been through that! I will keep what you said in mind
To pass on some words of advice from a nurse I met, I used to take pills like Abbie (without water), but was told, very emphatically, that apparently doing so increases the risk of throat cancer.... Something about residue left in the throat by not taking them with a drink. So since the nurse told me that, now I try to have a drink with them every time. Just a heads-up for you or anyone else who may not know that, as I didn't before! And I love Priscilla's Lipstick Mama blooper!!! :D
Lol look at her little sassy pants when you ask her “why don’t you just come here and help get it” she totally said no right away 😂 love it! I love how even though she’s non verbal you can still see her personality and attitude ♥️
the part when you showed her the lunchbox and said yes is a great moment. my son is 6 and autistic he doesn't want to eat anything even the things he use to enjoy, im having a hard time. nice video
Box Top Idea- our school does a collection event around Christmas to help with the lull after the big 11/1 collection deadline. We do a snowball fight!!! For every 10 box tops the student brings in they get a paper ‘snowball’ and they can stick it on a door of another classroom or teacher. We keep track of which class collects the most box tops, which teacher gets ‘hit’ with the least snowballs and which gets ‘hit’ with the most.
Plain old original blue Dawn dish soap is the BEST stain remover. Even gets out old stains. I just squeeze it onto the stain. Rub it in lightly with my finger, let it sit over night, and then wash. Viola! Stain removed. I love it. I've never found a stain remover that compares. 💜💙💜💙
I admit I paused the video just to comment first but it's because I randomly was watching some amazing oldies and realized that Abby is a doppelganger for little Peggy March she sings 'I will fallow him' please just take a look it's crazy I can see Priscillas smile 100%. Also y'all are awesome!🤗🤗🤗
i like how she said nope when you asked if she wanted to help get her cereal shes to cute !! .. i have a special needs daughter who is 16 ,while she not autistic i face some of the challenges you face and i commend yall for being so patient and kind to your daughter !! also 4th day of school here and so far so good !!
I loved how grumpy Abbie was in the intro, not gonna lie it was really cute and super serious. It’s sucks that she doesn’t sleep through the night, that’s definitely essential to learning and paying attention in school.
Priceless abbie said no dad u do it. Lol i swear priacillas laugh is so contagious i love it. Im excited for this school year. Isaiah was hiding a surf board in his car lol
I use Shout for stains but I’m looking for something better and as for Jewelry, I have sensitive skin and can only were fine jewelry. Tip for the ice pack. I have that same ice pack I use in my sons lunch but I put in a sandwich ziplock bag for when it starts to melt.
I love Abbies shorts and Priscillas shirt😍 I always enjoyed the time when my kids were out of school, summer, winter breaks etc., way more than when they were in school😁
OMG, yall make my stomach hurt "laughing so hard" I dont know any other vlogs I've ever watched that make me laugh like this. My laugh therapy for the day...
Abbie's hair cut makes her hair more voluminous (is that a word?). It looks so nice and full. She is so not a morning person lol she is definitely a teenager. The way she walked back in after Asa told her to is so cute. STAIN REMOVER- SHOUT!! Hands down.
My girls are not morning people at all. We’re in the same boat over here...preteens, autism and new schools and schedules. The second day is always harder than the first for us. I had to wake each the kids up the second day which I didn’t have to do the first day. It’s an adjustment!
So happy and proud of Abbie, she is doing so awesome with learning how to do things for herself at home and how wonderful she is doing in school already,She just needs to get back on her schedule. Love seeing her smile, love you guys 😘💜💛😇🌟
😄 3:45 i caught myself smiling back lol 6:11 i was like.. oook... hes gonna get the camera out... wait.. he pushed the button.. it’s actually starting!!! Lol
LOL, Priscilla! I HATE how I look with my eyebrows filled in too! It really does look ridiculous on me! So, solitude my natural eyebrows sister! ✌🏼😂 Asa.. that washing machine footage was SO EXTRA! I freaking LOOOOVED it! 😄👏🏼👏🏼👏🏼
Just lost you on You now. It's been hard a hard Autism day for us too! I use Wisk laundry detergent as a stain remover non diluted on the stain works great!
I love Prescilla's laugh!!!! I always laugh so hard when she's laughing....very contagious!!! Yet, another reason why I love this channel!!! HI ABBIE! STAY SASSY!!!
For stain removal I use vinegar and baking soda. It works amazingly! On whites, I add a bit of peroxide to the vinegar and baking soda mixture. I make sort of a paste out of this. I have yet to meet a stain that I couldn't get out using this method. For hard to remove stains I let the concoction sit over night. 😊💪
I add Borax to my laundry as a stain remover. Would recommend for blood stains! I just pour some in with the laundry itself and add soap as normal. Works every time, some things have to be run through a 2nd time
Best stain remover ever is Sards Wonder Soap. It's an Australian thing but I'm pretty sure you can buy it on Amazon. It comes in a bar and smells like eucalyptus. I use it for every stain ever. My school used to keep a bar of it in every art room for people to get paint and ink out of uniforms. Two girls once had a paint fight and were made to clean the blue paint out of their white dress shirts with Sard and it worked a treat! I even use it to clean all my makeup brushes because it's gentle but stain removing and doesn't have a super overwhelming smell.
target intel: (at least where I've lived in multiple mid-atlantic/NE states) target donates out of date/excess clothing, shoes, accessories to goodwill. maybe helpful, maybe not. i find goodwill more expensive than other thrift stores, but often they stock items with target tags still attached.
Alice Gallagher I asked the manager at the Goodwill where I live and he said Goodwill purchases the Target items. That's why they are the only thing not discounted on the last Saturday of the month. 😉💙
Priscilla, I died laughing at the extra footage!!! It reminded me of when I started my journey with younique. I felt like a fish out of water with the contour and the highlight and the brows on fleek madness. But I learned that the brows needs to be a little darker to define the frame of your face. Hair-line strokes help to keep the brow gel/powder from looking too harsh. We might be in different companies but we are in the same field and I'm cheering you on, sis!!!
I like the green monsters myself and I got to say when I open one I can smell the sugar in it. I didn't notice it till I stopped drinking sugary drinks like soda's energy drinks. I do drink monsters once in a while. But not like I use to. Hope y'all have a wonderful and blessed week.
I really enjoy watching these videos! Thank you for sharing your days it helps me get through and puts a smile on my face. 😀 You all are a great support for our family as well.
Zout works great for stain removal. Congrats on the new car! I saw the Carvana commercials and wondered if they actually had a vending machine - so cool .
Hi Priscilla school started here last week they wasted no time on giving test. My girl doesn't like to be timed on math. I home school so it's more relaxed but still challenging squeezing it all in. The stain remover I use is shout I get the industrial size comes with a standard bottle too $10 at Sam's club. It works very good on coffee, grease perspiration and works on carpets as well. Asa counting with you until summer vacation again.
I have a MPG thing on my car and I do the same thing! Sometimes if there are no cars on the road I truthfully play it like a game so I understand completely
Dawn dishwashing liquid mixed with white vinegar is one of the best blood, grease, and dirt stain removers. It even removes scale from the shower fixtures.
I can understand change being hard. When I had to get a full time job to start my life with my girl I was really scared because it was a dramatic change in my every day routine.
I laughed SO HARD when you said "Then why don't you help get it," and Abbie calmly shook her head no. That was me when I was her age. Such a teenager thing to do.
The brow looked really good. It's just a big change from what you are used to. I have naturally dark brows so don't need a product. I say do both sides with all your make up and I bet it looks great!
I buy jewelry whenever I go on a trip. I do make my own laundry detergent and it saves a ton of money and no perfumes smell. My son goes around and smells everything if it has a scent which can be a little weird!
I use the OxiClean foam stain remover. It works really well. I’ve got two messy boys and we don’t go a week without a stained tee or two. My husband drinks Monster way too much. He goes through 2-3 a day. His favorite are the orange and black zero ones.
Priscilla: Best stain remover is this stuff called incredible. They have it at bed bath and beyond. I’ve never seen something that takes out blood on clothing that easily. Might be good for the nosebleeds!
