1:08 That truck's tank imploding is a classic example of atmospheric pressure differential. It was obviously sealed with a much warmer load in it that cooled dramatically, OR the load had been emptied and the tank sealed with hot air inside, and when it cooled, the pressure dropped in correlation with the temperature, allowing the atmospheric pressure to crush the tank. No matter what, there was trapped air inside that cooled off enough for this to happen.

These tanks are generally under negative pressure in order to suck up the contents of the septic tanks. Sometimes they implode due to a weakness in the metal and/or because the driver did not monitor the pressure gauge carefully.

I have seen some demonstrations with barrels that where filled to a point with boiling water, then let the steam accumulate until the majority of normal air had gone. then sealed it, and showered in cold water the barrel. because it is cooled, all that vapor will turn to water, which doesnt occupy the same amount of volume, and thus the same happens. I realy didnt expect this one to contract SO much, must be pretty strong to only budge at that moment and not earlier.

@@maureen14 just make vegie tacos. sauté up some mushrooms, bell peppers, and onions, season them with taco seasoning and put them in the taco shell/tortilla. you can cut up some fresh cucumber, radish, and/or tomatoes and top the taco with those too. or you can get some refried beans and use the sautéed vegies to make a vegie burrito. add some sliced chicken breast if you want protein but want to be healthy too. season the chicken breast with the taco seasoning too.

@1:09 listen I work at a dairy plant and I can say that Ive seen, in the couple years Ive been there, two tanker trucks do that, vacuum is hella powerful force. The reason it happened to the trucks Ive seen is they washed the trucks but forgot to open the vent, thus heating the stainless vessel to about 165F and then rapidly cooling it in the rinse with clean water step, about 36F-50F depending on season, and then they make a real loud whump noise and become the flat.

Yeah this happens because of how pressure works. The gas inside heats to a very elevated temperature, and since the tank cools instantly it's "implodes" due to rapid cooling of the gas particles inside. Very cool

that tank was losing internal pressure from whatever pumps it out. a "vacuum" is _the absence of pressure_ . literally a small stone could press it from the outside and it will collapse. we learned about it in pipe trades apprenticeship classes.

The tanker imploded because of the atmospheric pressure vs the pressure inside the tank was so great it overwhelmed the structural strength of the tanker. Now as why it was due to operator error or equipment malfunction.

@@FL-uj7csAs a Nebraskan, we had 55 tornadoes that day, and we had ZERO deaths. Only one serious injury was reported, ended up with a broken leg. The one recorded specifically, 0 injuries. That clip is absolutely true. Nobody was hurt

Previously, the buses had to move backwards about one kilometre and turned then moving back “in a triangle” - by any means not a very safe manoeuvre. In Europe, there were turntables in regular service at the trolleybus systems in Solingen (since 2009 only used by the regular heritage trips), Bournemouth and Huddersfield, for buses on the Channel Island of Jersey, and outside Europe in Mexico and Japan, among others.

The tank on the truck collapsing is caused (if I remember right) by them steam pressure washing the inside of the tank out. They then closed the hatch on it and created a low pressure environment. Metal tanks, barrels and round transport containers can handle pressure, it's what they're made for, but they are not structurally stable for a vacuum to be pulled, so the pressure of all the air above it crushes it.

For those wondering that was a vacuum tanker. They’re used in construction and create a negative pressure inside the chamber to suck up pieces of debris. It was likely left active or was holding without maintenance so we collapsing in itself.

those tornadoes. I live in North Central Indiana. As kids, we learned which rooms in the house to use in case of a tornado and almost a half dozen times (80's and 90's) we went across the street to our neighbors basement to hide out and wait them out. The closet in our central hallway. Now, my current home, built right after ww2 has a "bomb shelter". Its just a room in the garage shaped like a horseshoe with 3 foot thick concrete walls around and above. It also has landscaping (I call it my "berm") on the outside of the garage with a 100ft tree growing out of it. I worked at a Trailer factory in Nappanee years ago and we had some tornadoes that went through and destroyed the town. My factory got leveled. People around here were actually able to request time off of work to go help with the clean up efforts. One of the biggest trees on my property fell on the garage (where our shelter is at) and nothing happened to the building. That tree was so big that 3 adults could hold hands around it and have a hard time finding each others hands. Its strange how some weather events can be so normal and expected, but so sensationalized in other parts of the country. I would imagine that our tornadoes are like monsoons, although its been a while since we had a proper tornado around here. I think it would be exciting.

Where I live now in Alabama has more frequent tornado's than anywhere else I've been. Not exciting in the least! At least in Indiana there would probably be ample warning, being able to see for miles around the flat cornfield countryside. Here, we're surrounded by thick forests, so there's no heads up until the tornado is on top of you -- where it'll have plenty of projectile ammunition to help demolish anything in its path.
