Hi Mary! I remember you mentioning in a past video that your hydrangeas never bloom. Those are hydrangeas that only bloom on old wood. I have two varieties that are like that. Sometimes my husband, who means well, will cut them down/back and I do not get any blooms.... :-( Now I live in the deep south and my hydrangeas do not look like yours quite yet, but will in a month or two. The best thing to do is leave them be. The leaves will fall off and reveal canes. When spring comes check the canes. Remove the dead ones. Trim the live ones just a little to even up the plant. Then give it a good feed. Most of the live canes will have new shoots and leaves coming out once it warms up. Anytime that you cut back (and I agree that a cut back hydrangea does look good in a winter garden) the variety that blooms on old wood, it will take at least 18 months to get good blooms again. But the wonderful blooms will last the season, make beautiful bouquets and dried arrangements. My sister loves to take the dried ones, lightly spray paint them and put them in her Christmas tree. Love what you've done to the she shed!

When I was a kid, we used to whip Ivory Flakes & water and spread it on the outside of candles for a snowy look. I was disappointed when they quit making the flakes and had no idea you could grate the bars and do the same thing. Thank you for clueing me in!

When we were little and had a live cedar tree my Mom would mix ivory laundry powder with hot water and beat it up. She'd put is on the branches and it looked like real snow. It helped to lesson the amount of needles that fell to the floor, too. I like your trees, Mary!

I love your sheshed. I have no room for one however. I am begging my husband to build me raised planter beds as I have a place under my bedroom window and my oldest sons bedroom window that could use a lilac tree in the middle, and lavender and salad greens herbs everywhere else. Also, want to grow lemon, lime, orange, and grapefruit in another area. It excites me so greatly. Love your video Mary. You truly do inspire me.

It is a cool Saturday morning in Santa Clarita and I was wanting some White Cottage Company. Just relaxing with my chai tea latte and watching you bundled up and cleaning your yard. Love it. But you know what endears me to you and your channel? How sweet you are to your cats. That does it for me.

I truly miss the seasons up north. Here in south Texas we have 2 seasons, hot and hotter. I am slowly getting to decorating and fall clean up at my house. Soon I will have weekends off again and will be able to do more. Many blessings Mary. I love your videos.
