I love the big brother "told you lil sis" vibe all through the video, especially when you showed her 'body repair.' ☠️ Listen to your older brother about cars especially when they a dang mechanic!! 😂
I spent 4000 on endurance wouldn't even replace a compressor because they said the seal on the front of compressor went but it wasn't locked up. They are pure trash and trickery
You’ll are speaking the truth regarding extended warranties. I purchased a warranty for my older car and I added seals and gaskets to my plan. Took it to the dealer for oil change and they informed me my valve cover gaskets were leaking. if it wasn’t for me adding that package to my plan I would’ve been out of pocket for that work. Needless to say you as a consumer will need to read the fine print
I've done Mechanic/ Tech work for well over 50 years and I can tell you your right about most people including family. The ones who did listen reaped the rewards of my suggestions. As far as German cars go they are NO fun to work on anymore since 1996. I have worked on my Brothers 2013 E250 and he does not want to listen to me about a ticking noise it makes and after doing everything he wanted done it still has that tick after it warms up. The ticking is coming from the front area of the Transmission which is a Re-Man unit of course. I did a head job on a 2009 Tacoma and a Chain and Cassette job on a 2013 BMW 328i. Needless to say I'm not impressed with these cars at all. Everybody that I have worked for tried going thru those warranty companies at least once and No More!
That BMW looks like a money pit. When i saw that rear quarter panel tape body work i was like oh my goodness. My friend had the V8 X5 2013 i believe and left it in his garage because he was tired of it draining his pockets CONSTANTLY... Thousands into it. Thanks for the vid as always you two!
They are and european cars in general I recently watched a video from The car wizard ( great chanel also ) and on an audi they had to disasemble the front cover and timing belt just to change the thermostat
Hate to say woman especially young ones so not take care of car ,just put the key in and if it starts there good who cares if there is no oil in it ,and over heats
Too many people that can’t afford them buy them, and then the amount of deferred maintenance just keep piling up until the car is essentially mechanically totaled.
I would have made that Pontiac person prepay the bill. Especially with the history of that car. No way I'm going to work on that car without at least $500 in my account
2003 Range Rover w the 4.4 BMW V8 actually a good engine for Euro standards but yes it’s been HIGH MAINTENANCE 💵 runs great redid the timing chain at 200k miles and I’ve replaced everything w GENUINE parts. It’s at 227k miles now had it almost 12 yrs. My Lexus SC430 though is my daily 😂 have a good one guys I like your videos
Turbo bmw 😂😂what could go wrong, my N52 2010 Xdrive30i over 240k running strong. Preventive maintenance is KEY, parts aren’t that expensive but then again if you LET IT DETERIORATE over time then yes it will get expensive. That’s why I love working on vehicles. A lot times people don’t know how to work on vehicles and throw them away, I’d put an engine in that Grand Prix and ride all day long 😂
😂 8:24 this was awesome lol and Completely agree with Alex the car Doctor when it comes to trying to tell someone "listen to me", It's like trying to help someone Beforehand, Like I tell people Now listen to me And just don't hear me, Metaphorically speaking, It's also kind of like saying, now are you watching and not just looking or glancing, So when someone says listen to me, Absorb the information, Calculate, Understand intent and conclusion, And ultimately make an educated decision and act on that, "listen to me", Thank you keep up the good content 💯.
One of my family members got an Audi SUV after I told her she would regret it after it emptied out her bank account and it did! I tried hard Alex, but sometimes they got to learn the hard way:P
Regular tap water has stuff to mess up for cooling system? Agreed, to some degree the chemicals added to our tap water are detrimental; are you saying you use filtered water when you mix your coolant? Pretty sure prestone and the like use basic "tap" water. Regardless, running only water, and running a water rich mixture, will indeed cause damage as you stated
@ricebike thanks for pointing that out. Absolutely correct, big ol face palm for me. I know they use distilled water. No excuses, simply an incorrect statement. I will leave it alone, hopefully to show others, that being coreected isn't a negative thing. 🍻
don’t want to put down any particular brand of car because I love just about all cars and I know many are loyal to certain brands but in my opinion the best vehicle insurance is to buy a Honda or Toyota product.
my god the PILES in that shop. you should really reserve like 1 day a month just to clean out from the messes you have to fix. i know that costs money, its time youd have to pay people and not make money, but that would drive me insane to be around all day
i know how that is no one listens to me like my wife i keep telling her dont drive your suv with a missfire now it has a rod knock i told her to bring it to me but nope i wont fix it now
It's better to have a 1993 Celica than a 2020 BMW. German cars are overcomplicated money-pits. Especially Audi. But a 2013? Oh, hell....no. Once German cars are over 10 years old, they are absolutely going to rob you blind to fix them. They are too complicated. A rich person's game.
I don’t disagree. The car was gifted to her. It’s high maintenance and she can’t afford it. She’s in a Honda Odyssey now. They don’t require as much maintenance as the BMW
What are you talking about. The kid beating up on the body of the car has Zero to do with the mechanical stuff that’s constantly going wrong the vehicle Genius!!!!!
@@AlexTheCarDoctor my wife has 218,000 on her bmw genius if you don’t wanna drive a piece of shit American car you pay for what you drive if you wanna drive a piece of shit American car buy it
