It is so sad how often women's menstrual pain is dismissed from doctors. When a body is healthy, there should not be crippling menstrual pain, rather, that is a symptom of something in the body needing help/support. I wish more doctors weren't so dismissive!

An Ovarian Teratoma = An undeveloped 'twin' fetus The most common theory is that ovarian teratoma's are the remnants of a twin fetus that did not survive. The undeveloped tissue gets absorbed by the twin that did - which explains the hair and teeth tissue.

Trish Truitt nah nah it's actually called a dermoid cyst. Just because it happened to be in her reproductive area, it literally could've happened on any part of her body and still have had hair and teeth in it.

I had a dermoid cyst with hair, teeth, and brain tissue. I also experienced painful periods. The difference I had was that I had back pain without being on my period. I had to go to the Dr. three different times to get diagnosed properly. At that time my tumor was the size of a grapefruit. I also had one the size of a golf ball. Both tumors were removed and an ovary and a half. My surgery was not laparoscopy because this was done back in 1987.

I can't resist... a cyst with brain fluid would make you a real smarty pants.

That happened to one of my friends. But it didn't take several doctors or several years. Apparently some of the genetic material from the ovaries gets in the cyst and that it why it has teeth and hair.
