I love how every person that sings this song does it their own way!! Some how it’s never the exact same as any other and it’s really amazing! This version is sooo pretty!
I really really hope they’re releasing a West End version of the soundtrack. I love the Broadway one but it would be amazing for the brilliant stars of London 🤩 and I’d have both albums on repeat ☺️
Have had the McPheever since 2006! So happy my husband & I got to see one of our favorite artist LIVE last year on Broadway! LOVED EVERYONES PERFORMANCE!
The most talented women have played Jenna, and belted out every amazing song with grace. Sara, Stephanie Torns, Katharine...the list goes on. Katharine has such a gorgeous voice!
One of the best singers that has been underrated. Glad she found happiness in her personal life. Unlike many so gets she doesn't have to go on stage wearing next to nothing it is just her voice and talent she has to display.
Such an emotionally challenging song sung SO WELL by one of my favorite AI alums! Sometimes, 2nd place is better than winning - just ask Kat and Queen + Adam Lambert! THIS IS GORGEOUS! :-)
It's not simple to say That most days I don't recognize me That these shoes and this apron That place and its patrons Have taken more than I gave them It's not easy to know I'm not anything like I used be, although it's true I was never attention's sweet center I still remember that girl She's imperfect, but she tries She is good, but she lies She is hard on herself She is broken and won't ask for help She is messy, but she's kind She is lonely most of the time She is all of this mixed up and baked in a beautiful pie She is gone, but she used to be mine It's not what I asked for Sometimes life just slips in through a back door And carves out a person and makes you believe it's all true And now I've got you And you're not what I asked for If I'm honest, I know I would give it all back For a chance to start over and rewrite an ending or two For the girl that I knew Who'll be reckless, just enough Who'll get hurt, but who learns how to toughen up When she's bruised and gets used by a man who can't love And then she'll get stuck And be scared of the life that's inside her Growing stronger each day 'til it finally reminds her To fight just a little, to bring back the fire in her eyes That's been gone, but used to be mine Used to be mine She is messy, but she's kind She is lonely most of the time She is all of this mixed up and baked in a beautiful pie She is gone, but she used to be mine
during her Broadway run fans of Kath demanded her to release her version of 'She Used to Be Mine' Now, that she's leaving on June 15th, in the West End. She released her version of this song.

I think I speak for a lot of fans here but please can we get a west end cast recording?! I saw it opening week second time and it’s amazing!!! Loved both the broadway and west end version!!!
@lisarm100 I agree (Sara is untouchable not only as a singer but as a songwriter) but man, Jordin Sparks is such a close second. She brings so much emotion to the song.
I have never heard her sing anything I don't like. But this song is way to 'small' for her voice? Or too simple. She does not sound good at all. Or maybe shes just not theatrical.........I don't know but just don't like it.
@@MrBeraht Don't have to be a singing teacher to be musically aware ;) I totally agree that it sounded a bit rushed. But it doesn't mean that it was bad! I just feel like it could have given this version even more depth, power and fullness:)
