The incredible Lucie Jones’ delivers a stunning performance of ‘She Used To Be Mine’ live on stage at the Adelphi Theatre, London. Book Now: www.waitressthemusical.co.uk
Incredible isn’t it ? I was lucky enough to be about 2ft from her face during a production of Rent in a small theatre some years ago and I could actually hear the real voice without going through the PA because I was so close and I’ve never heard anything like it before or since. Amazing !!!
@@shelbimcmullen5483 it was the 300th performance of waitress in london so to celebrate they recorded this straight after the show. Thats why shes in the costume she wears at the end of the show and isnt pregnant or in the house
Was in the audience this night, and I’m telling you this video will never do it justice. I couldn’t see a single person who wasn’t in tears. Utterly flawless.
80sGraffiti > exactly what accent is that because Lucie Jones is certainly not an American woman from the south. She doesn’t sound anything like that - if you’re saying she sounds like what Jennie is supposed to sound like.
She has one of the best accents. It’s really hard to train yourself to sing with a southern accent. I’m FROM the south and I have to think about it. Welsh to American then add southern. THAT really is talent. And those growls! 👏
She's Welsh, not far from where I live :) She was on the X Factor years and years ago. Absolute tradgedy when they eliminated her to these two dumbasses called Jedward
dailin shee I absolutely had not made the connection, can’t believe i’ve been addicted to this video for a week and not realised I have her autograph and spent a lot of my parent’s money voting for her when I was younger. How weird.
Rhiannon Rees yeah? I thought it changed in the original post but apparently it didn’t. It was just simply ignorance on my part. If I offended anyone, I’m sorry? Take it easy (as in, have a good day).
That mixed voice in the belting is so fucking perfect. Jesus christ, just closing my eyes and listening to her transition from chest to mixed to head is so beautiful
Ikr? I would love to be able to sing like that! But lessons are a bit out of my budget and I suspect I’d need a professional teacher rather than trying to teach myself or I could probably damage my voice trying.
@@ghostmadlittlemiss the easiest way to teach yourself to mix is by learning to soft yodel with the 5 vowels of the alphabet. go down a scale singing a, e, i, o, u then go up a scale singing it again. then try to switch through going up and down a scale between each vowel.
Yeah, Adam Lambert, Kat McPhee, Daughtry, Kane Brown, Maren Morris, Lauren Daigle. Just a few of the people that lost on idol. Those shows are popularity contests.
Went to see waitress this afternoon in Manchester. I’ve been in a very cruel and abusive marriage for the last few years and finally had the courage to say I’ve had enough. Been so isolated but I so wanted to get back out and enjoy life on my own again despite feeling broken beyond belief. Had no idea the storyline for this musical but felt like I was watching my own life and for the first time in years I felt compassion for myself. What a beautiful voice Lucie has.
When I saw her in London, I could swear the people in the rows gave her a standing ovation, I couldn’t tell because I am poor and was sitting in the upper dress circle
Yes I've seen standing ovations after Lucie sings this song. The only time I've seen that in London. On Broadway it happened after Celie sings I'm Here in Color Purple.. love those moments.. ☺️
I can tell you at this performance she got a standing ovation 3 times, after the first time she sang it, at the bows and after this version! Well atleast the cheap seats up top gave her a standing ovation, so if we stood up even with the terrifying heights, I'm sure the people on the flat did!
Can we please stop comparing all the Jennas and whatever roles? Each and everyone brings something special to the role and they're all doing their best.
And we certainly can't compare from You tube. I saw Lucie Jones live in the role and she was incredible...great voice and really good actress...... but if I had seen someone else in the role first, I suspect that she would have become 'my Jenna'. This musical leaves a mark on you....brilliantly written, great music.....just add great singers who can act brilliantly and you have......the perfect pie!
This needs wayyyyy more views. This is absolutely incredible. Her control and power on the belting “she used to be mine” parts towards the end are perfect. And the part in the bridge where she growls “FIGHT” is so goooood
I’m in tears, why? Cause I have a teenage daughter who lost the confidence in herself after a break up and we sat listening to her. All women are warriors xx
her mixing is absolutely beautiful and her run on ‘lonely’ is crystal clear🥺 how i’m only just hearing this now is beyond me but this is the fifth time i’m listening to this today! i honestly can’t get enough of how pure her voice is!
Musically I've always preferred Sara's orginal.... on stage Lucie is the one I personally liked best so far because she didn't overdo it and got the message perfectly and emotionally across... excellent!
Cant imagine how emotionally charged her performance would have been at poor Caroline's funeral... the words are very poignant & fitting for the wonderful person that she was😢
“she is messy but she’s kind, she is lonely most of the time, she is all of these mixed up and baked in a beautiful pie. she is gone but she used to be mine” 🥺makes me tear up every time without failure x
Wow, wow, wow, just wow. The way she breathes, the way she fought back the tears and still delivered some perfect vocals, the way she felt what she sang. I honestly just came here 'cause I love Sara and the song but I never expected to scream to the screen of my laptop at 3 AM "ARE YOU FOR REAAAALLL?" Please make her more famous than she already is. Absolutely killer performance. Kudos to you, girl!
I can not believe this is Lucie Jones. I’m so glad she got to continue with her singing she was amazing on X Factor at such a young age and now. She has just proven she’s gone from strength to strength. Absolutely mesmerising!
This was truly an incredible performance in that she felt so incredibly comfortable to really take her time with this song and let her moments be moments and not run through it but really feel it that you simply can't evoke through professional recordings.
After months of watching the Shoshana and the Jeremy Jordan versions, I got to see Lucie perform this on London during the summer. I sobbed my eyes out 😂 She’s such a good singer!
Very true, deserves more recognition! I tried to sing this beautiful song and my friend played the piano, it’s not perfect but it would mean the world to me if you saw our version! 🤗❤️
I watched Waitress last night at The Opera House in Manchester. Lucie Jones is a fantastic performer as were the whole production. Matt Willis deserves a mention aswell. Lucie has that magic that all stars have.
i stg she is the most perfect human being on the planet. i have been watching this on repeat for two hours and my friends are probably fed up of the videos of me crying at this point... lmaooo it's just sO GOOD
I’ve just watched her sing this at The Royal Albert Hall tonight. She by a country mile received the biggest applause of the night. Mesmerising performance 👏👏👏
Saw her live in London and she brought the house down. Amazing. Never witnessed such a unanimous standing ovation. Truly incredible, her and the whole cast. The show was sadly overshadowed by Hamilton at the awards. Post lockdown go. So good.
This has got to be one of the best performances of this song I have ever heard. I've heard the song so many times but my whole body ended up covered in goosebumps. Absolutely incredible!!
One of the best vocal story telling ever. And I have seen many musicals in different languages. Lucy just made something perfect. Thanks. Listening it over and over again.
I was at the show when they did this recording, it was absolutely breathtaking and it still gives me chills when I listen to it, this song means so much to me ❤️
OH MY GOD!!!!! I was there!!!! This was amazing!!!!!!! That was my actual birthday and the best birthday present I could've asked for!!!!! I cry both times she did this!!!!! Incredible!!!! And Sara's lyrics are spot on, they give you chills!!!! The best!!!!! Everything!!!!! Thank you, thank you, thank you!!!!!
This is my fav performance of she used to be mine, Lucie is magic, The look in their eyes evoques a lot of feelings. I can't describe in words what she provokes in me when I hear her in "For a chance to start over and rewrite an ending or two", "Who'll be reckless, just enough", "To fight just a little, to bring back the fire in her eyes" and "That's been gone, but used to be mine". Anyway the whole song is perfect .. Greetings from her fans from Mexico
I'm visiting her and listen to her whenever my anxiety and depression strikes.. might as well makes me wanna share it to well maybe just to cope up with their struggle as mine.. so yeah😁
I saw Waitress in Sunderland last night with Lucie Jones and her performance of this song blew me away. The emotion she delivers behind her powerful voice is incredible but she also brings a vulnerability to it too. Beyond talented!
How is it that every time I hear this song I'm like "dont cry this time" and it gets to that belting note and I'm 😭 "she is lonely most of the time" I'm literally always crying by the end of this powerful number 😭❤
This is Brilliant, She is briliant! The whole cast were brilliant!.. Searched for this after we came back from London - so Glad we found it. I've heard a lot of people sing this but she had me in tears. We were sat in a box so we had an amazing view. How this girl lost X Factor to Jedward i will never know!... Absolutely stunning version Lucie, Well done! A well deserved standing ovation.
