Actually, Freud's lines were all directed at Theresa herself not the Catholic Church (though there is overlap lol) While there were definetly tons of rumors floating around about the poor care that was give to people under her care, her crisis of faith towards the end of her life etc. one that is still up in the air is about how potentially hundreds of thousands of dollars in donations to her charity just *vanished* and the money has yet to be recovered to this day. Making the "other people's money" line the hardest in the battle

A lot of people, initially, gave the win to Mother Teresa due to her flow and, addmitebly, funnier lines. But if you actually listen to what each of them is saying, Freud absolutely *dissected her* and deserved the win.

Sister Act is the name of a movie Whoopie Goldberg was in. She was a mob bosses girlfriend and she witnessed one of his murders so she got scared he was gonna kill her and went into witness protection where she posed as a nun. They taught her character virtue and patience while she taught them about standing up for themselves and not accepting degradation just because they fear sin. Also it was hilarious.😂

"Your chastity vow, redundant". I think that line alone should have given Freud the win.

I think Freud's insults cut deeper, but Teresa was very creative I like the motherlover line because its both a censored curse because shes Christian, and a refernce to the Odepius complex (that mother attraction thing)

Teresa’s attacks were numerous but rather light. Fraud’s attacks were few but very hard and targeted. I feel Freud did better.

Both were equally matched while I'm more on the Christian side, I personally side with Freud in this battle since he was a lot more hurtful and disrespectful in ways I can actually respect in an actual rap battle. Best lines were: *Jokes I can make about your looks, abundant. Your chastity vow, redundant* *You took credit that you didn't deserve, you're the fakest Sister Act since Whoopi Goldberg* *To you Calcutta meant Call, cut a check*

You should definitely watch the Nostalgia Critic vs Dead Meat Rap Battle sometime. It's really good. The same guys that made it also made JonTron vs Scott the Woz

Fun fact: This battle was released on my birthday (which is coming up in less than a week btw)

This is a good matchup since Freud had a tendency of blaming patient problems on the mother

Mother Teresa had great flow, but I personally felt her attacks were weak and very surface-level. Freud's cut deeper, in my opinion.

The Edipus complex, it's based on the greek myth of Edipus that one day his father went to the Oracle of Delphi, and the oracle said that his son would kill him and marry his wife, so because of that king Laio, (Edipus dad) abandonned his child, ironicly years later Edipus came back as someone who didn't know all of his relation with no one there and killed his Dad and marryed his mom

Just for a bit of historical context for Freud. He was an austrian neurologist who laid the building blocks of what is psychology today. He had multiple revolutionary theories about the mind. Including the study of dreams, lairs of human consciousness (Id, Ego, Super-Ego), and he was the first to take the idea of sexuality seriously instead of just dismiss it as sinful or repress it. He also helped distigmatize mental health problems for many groups, including the concept of “Hysteria” for woman (though he could be argued to have held sexist opinions). He died in 1939 in england after he called in every favour he had to escape Nazi occupied Austria with his immediate family. Something vary intersting to me in the rap battle itself is that Freud today is often talked about with a sort of second hand embarasment by mental health professionals because some of his theories were a bit “out there”. But in the long scheme of things his work can be argued to have benefited the world much more than Mother Theresa’s who even by vary generous estimates of her success only managed to treat the symptoms of poverty in india not actually help it. With Mother Theresa being called a saint and Freud being that one embarrasing great uncle to all of modern psychology.

It's difficult as Freud is such a awful person in general but the things called out against Teresa were also pretty big so I guess I have to give it to him. Also did you know there's a new Helluva boss episode out? You probably do know but I'm saying it just in case you don't.
