@@shiirenesims6250 But they STOPPED doing it. This is like the "washcloth thing", all over again. Unless my great-grandma was not telling us the truth (yeah, I know, possibly!), she always used washcloths and never switched to those unsustainable, crappy, plastic loofahs. This appears to be a class thing, more than a race thing, anyway: I think that middle-class families switched to the plastic loofahs, in the 80's or 90's. Anyway, I'm still Team Washcloth, but I compromised by buying a few that have a rougher side, too. Fresh washcloth, every time, has to be cleaner than letting the plastic loofah air-dry, and better for the planet.

Okay, so let me get this straight, wearing a bonnet when you arent black is considered "cultural appropiation" and "racism" but no it seems to be COMPLETELY FINE for someone to say "stay in your white lane!" imagine if i said "stay in your black lane" that would classified as racism but the moment its on white people its not "racism anymore." FYI, im dominican. I've had more dominicans be racist to me than americans or other white people. This is ridiculous.

Technically, calling bonnets a black person thing is cultural appropriation because they were made by European people for European people. I'm not complaining that black people use them, but that we have this idea that if its something a black person does, it has to be black and you can't do it if you're not black

How is it wearing other people's hair is fine (extensions) but wearing a bonnet isn't. It just seems a bit odd. Some of the hair actually does come from a different race. I personally dont care on either issue though if people choose to use them. Bonnets however protect all hair types from damage while sleeping and help it not be a knotted mess and retain moisture better.

@0therM0ther.01
@0therM0ther.01 2 дня назад
Unless someone is specifically bleaching, to appear blonde, I don't think that we can argue that anyone actually "owns" hair dye. India, maybe? Henna? I think that African tribes still use various paints and clays on their hair, for the colors. Anyway, that's a talk that "white people" need to have, among themselves: very few adults actually have blonde hair, even if they did when they were children. It is kind of weird to keep putting it on a pedestal, when so few people actually have those genetics.

How many times does it need to be said, we ALL bleed red. We are like toast, some of us are just a little more done than others maybe? Seriously though, we went from segregation to full integration, and then I have been seeing POC lately calling for segregation, having their own graduations and such. Seriously?? Oh boy would their great grandparents, heck maybe even grandparents be pissed at them! My mom is 82 and went to segregated schools and then watch them become integrated. Was happy when they did. She said it is crazy how people are wanted things seperate and such. Back when she was younger she played with everyone, and the poc girls would braid her hair, put sheen? In it, and they would all dress up and have tea parties and then go outside and make mud pies and get yelled at for getting their dresses dirty lol. When she was a teenager one of those girls became orphaned and my grandparents took her in and not only finjshed raising her, but put her on company payroll when she turned 20, bought her a little house by theirs, and she still lives there to this day. She is now in her 90s and my momma still introduces her to everyone as her sister. Unfortunately she didnt get a proper education prior to my grandparents taking her in and she was too embarrassed to start basically at 1st grade as a teenager so they taught her to read and write and do basic math. She cleaned their offices for them, answered phones occasionally, and will tell you she likely had a much better life because of that. Her momma had her at 15, the age she was when her moma died. She doesnt remember much about her dad, and never could find him after she got older, had no other family she knew of, so momma became her sister and she moved my grandparents to death. Helped care for them when they were ill and dying and said after everything they did for her it was the least she could do. She helped raise my brothers ans sister and I. So seeing all this division over how someones skin is colored different to me is CRAZY. We grew up KNOWING that God made us all the same inside, and we are ALL hus children. Thats all that mattered. We didnt and still dont choose friends by skin color. You wanna hang and be friends? You a good person? Cool lets chill what you wanna go do? Thats really it. Why cant everyone just stop and realize this, who is cibstabtly seperating us by race? The govt. Every form, from healthcare to food stamps, to school, to well everything. Please select your race. Why?? Will it determine whether I get license or not? Will it help you decude whether I get healthcare, food stamps, a job? Then why TF do i need to mark my race? The only thing any of those forms should ask is are you a US citizen. If yes, then move to the next question because thats all you need to know about where I come from. Stop letting them divide us, and it will greatly diminish the hate and intolerance. And cultural appropriation is something a british anthropologist and even he had trouble defiining it and said it was not something in fact but rather an ideal, he was later called out by others for this but research it yourself. More recently it has was beung uswd by white liiberal wimen who ran out if other thjngs t be ifdended for other people by and it started being a thimg on social media ajd bow of course its everywhere, and most of us find it cringe. Those gettung offended ny things like bonnets and braids, go get a job, a hobby, read a book, something cuz you must have way too much free time. Imagine being offeded because some white girl wants to protect her hair like you do. Puhlease. Yea imma need you to never eat spaghetti, fried rice, korean bbq, see how stupid that sounds. So just stop it.
