Tarryn Stokes is the WINNER of The Voice Australia 2023. What do you think? Is she a deserving winner, or would you have preferred to see someone else win?
The battle between her and Nyarri was like watching Celine Dion & Mariah Carey… in their own unique way. Absolutely stunning 🤯 and they sounded incredible together!
Her babies too! It made me cry! The love was amazing to watch, Taryn has an amazing presence though so its not a shock her family does too. She is such a goddess!
It's not about being better or not. Its about your voice being different and recognizable. And Tarryn is no different, amazing singer but not stand out. Lots of people like this. I'm glad she won its great.
I agree. But like another commenter said, it’s about standing out and being memorable. Unfortunately sometimes that has nothing to do with singing ability. It’s a whole package they’re trying to sell cuz the music industry knows we fall for gimmicks time and time again.
Well it’s also about being ready… like they always say… youth is wasted on the young. She was not emotionally ready, and that’s not something that can be forced. :(
@@junkjournaldavao It's difficult to portray via text, but I get what they're saying. Tarryn has a fantastic voice and can/will 100% own the stage with her voice alone. I hope Tarryn gets recognition beyond Australia and has a long lasting and thriving music career where she continues to be front and center. But it's worth the acknowledgement that Tarryn also has a voice that is stereotypical of female pop vocals and it's an incredibly crowded market. For every Billie Eilish, there is a Whitney Houston, Celine Dion, Kelly Clarkson, Lady Gaga, Katy Perry, etc. It doesn't make Tarryn any less talented or deserving, just that her climb to the next peak is steeper than her male counterparts. To @CarlosGomezDiaz original comment- agreed! In a lot of cases, background singers are echelons better than the lead singers because they have to style match their vocals with the main talent.
Rita's reaction was priceless! "Me?" Even though she was the first to turn, after hearing Tarryn knew Jess and Guy, she didn't think she had a chance of being chosen. You could see how happy she was to get picked! Rita did an awesome job coaching and Tarryn is one of the most incredible voices they've ever had! Amazing performances!
I agree completely and I could see Ritas love for her during their performance she wanted her to shine. What a star T. Watching this brought me tears of joy
I love that she was able to admit that despite loving her children, we as moms sometimes feel we have lost a piece of who we are. She reconnected. It’s a beautiful place. We can have it all!
The first performer of this song is Eric Carmen of the Raspberries 1975. Written by Eric Carmen and Sergei Rachmaninoff. The Raspberries also performed a song called "Don't Go Away".
What a powerful performance. Usually it's one singer that stands out slightly above the other, but they both totally killed it on that. It was freaking awesome! Just... wow.
The way her husband looks at her, how proud he is and doesn’t want to look away from her having her moment but has to double take looking at the audience and judges… the pride in her husband but also every single judge watching her and seeing her confidence build. You can tell everyone single one wanted her to win. I’m so so glad she chose Rita.. you see her just melt and feeling every emotion watching Tarryn sing it’s incredible and I’m so happy she won!! Incredible voice and more than deserved! Can’t wait to hear more from her!
One of the best voices I've ever heard. When she auditioned with "She Used to Be Mine" I said Winner! Absolutely STUNNING! And Rita did a great job of helping her pick songs that showcased Tarryn's Incredible range and power.
Exactly, I thought the same too: winner! The coaches' fate was decided there when she chose, whoever she picked, I knew would be winning the voice with her. Just like it happened with Bella, on season 2021.
@@scirmostefanusercimor4584 Probably not. She have a huge talent, but Céline had a lot more than a voice... Céline had a lot of talented people to write powerful songs for her, Angelil who really build her career step by step and she start at 12 years old... Tarryn have a powerful and good range voice. She need the good songs to match it, like Demi Levato, Céline, Witney Houston... I mean, we can say the same for Jessy J. She's very talented, a huge voice. But her own songs are really pop and just average. But her covers of other songs are masterpiece... And she didn't have the same career of every other artists I talked about above... The talent is not enough. Here, Rita was really good to pick the right song at the right moment for her. That's really important, more than the voice itself. But of course, you need the talent to deliver a song like 'All by my self' lol.
As an over-40 mother of 5 who is still struggling to pursue her dreams, this was so incredibly inspiring. Not to mention her mind-blowing talent. She invoked not just chills, but tears in the first Chorus of "All by Myself". Way to go, mama!
If this is what 30 yr olds look like these days… yeeesh! 😬 She looks about 38 to me! And I’m not even trying to be mean. Her voice is amazing and we shouldn’t be paying attention to her looks anyway.
Wow. I don't even want to know how many background singers are out there who are such beautiful diamons like Tarryn who never have the courage or the chance to shine like she did and does. A beautiful woman, a beautiful voice and a beautiful family. ❤
I know this comment is half a year ago but, in case you haven't already, check out "20 Feet From Stardom". All about some of the biggest background singers, including Merry Clayton who sang on "Gimme Shelter" and Darlene Love who backed up some of the biggest legends in the day. Amazing insight into that world.
Back vocalists are very often technically better. I wouldn't say she's better than Guy - he is ridiculous - but this is very often the case. Why? Because you need to adapt key that the lead vocalist chooses for themselve and because you need an really high level of control and you have a lot of pressure in the studio to get takes quickly.
1. The way Jessica Mauboy looking at her when she realized that Tarryn Stokes was her backup singer was priceless. You have my respect Jessica for your humbleness & talent as well. 🙌🏻🎙️ 2. The way Rita Ora shocked when she heard Tarryn's high notes was made my day. Plus she was really cute & good person. 🥰🥇 3. Finally, the way Tarryn's husband staring at her in the last minute of the song with his glassy eyes was definitely incredible and complete this beautiful audition story. I'm in tears too. I can feel the sincerity & how much he loves his wife. ❤😢
Rita turned for her in a split-second and really respected her the whole time, through song choices and getting her trough constantly. LOVED this and can't wait for Taryn to become an actual superstar!
Nope, I’ll never forget when Jes blocked Keith Urban even after knowing that the female contestant singing was not only a huge fans of his but she’d actually wrote & performed a song about Keith for her audition. It was so petty, mean, & spiteful especially as the woman was so disappointed.
Support given by Rita to Tarryn is 100% all out...The real coach Rita indeed...adding up to Tarryn's tremendous vocal powers...MORE MORE POWER TO YOU BOTH❤...... nic jorge here from PHILIPPINES
The Battle,, "Alone",, HOW can it have been possible to choose a winner of THAT?! No way could I have picked,, NO WAY! Both voices ARE absolutely incredible,, INCREDIBLE!
Stratospheric vocals!!! The way her husband looks at her, with such pride, is endearing!! Tarryn is so deserving of this win!!! Congratulations - its your turn to be front and center.
Also, let's appreciate Rita for being such an amazing coach who has empathy, is motivating and just brings the best in another person. She's just so kind, thoughtful, humble and absolutely delightful!
People who know Tarryn personally know what a beautiful person she is. An amazing character. It is wonderful to see her as a mum. From a family of many talents.
I love that the moment Jess sets eyes are Tarryn during the blind audition that you can see in her eyes just how much Jess loves her, values her, and respects her from having worked with Tarryn before. It's just so beautiful to see mutual respect between people ❤
Well i`m a Pom, 67 yrs old, and have taken many stars on their tours of the UK And Europe as their Tour Bus Driver, and i can tell you, Tarryn really has one of the best voices i have ever had the Privilige to hear. Tarryn, and to Tarryns Family, god bless you all, and hope you all get to have the most amazing future. One thing i would love to see happen, is that when Tarryn gets a tour going, which she will do for sure, please invite Nyarri along as one of your very special backing singers, and please do The Heart song `Alone` as it was so very well done!!! Good Luck Tarryn, i wish you the very best . . . . . .Chris.
Tarryn Stokes is my FAVORITE! What an AMAZING voice she has! Gives me the Celine Dion vibes which is on a whole other level and no one in my opinion can compare.. Absolutely incredible ❤ I hope to hear her music from here forward. Rita got it right when she described her as an "international star"
First time I see and listen to Tarryn Stokes, she's INCROYABLE!!! What a singer, her voice and technique are just insanely good, she looks so confident when she sings, she's so sweet and lovely, not surprised that she won, she's the big deal. Well done Tarryn, happy you realized how terrific you are as a singer. All the best to you and your adorable family.
That battle of the Moms singing Alone was crazy. I thought they were equals, I couldn't have picked one. The final song Tarryn sang was the first I noticed where she knew she had this. Her confidence was not only in her voice, there was a change in her expression during that final song that just said "Yes!".
I’m still crying for her, she totally deserves it! What a powerful voice and mission to now inspire mothers or anyone to pursue your dreams!!! Wow!!! Bravo!!! 🎉❤🎉❤
Being a parent is almost romanticized so it’s no wonder that so many people have post partum depression. The mental, emotional and mental physical demand of becoming a parent is shocking. I felt it too for a bit with my son. I’m so proud of Tarryn for what she’s done for herself. It’s not easy to escape those trying emotions as a new Mum. Her singing is beautiful and the emotion in her voice is authentic because of where she’s been
She has been my very very favourite right from the blinds! I'm soo happy she won, she soo deserved it! And she won on my birthday!!! What a birthday present! Thanks for putting this together, I didn't want it to end, could watch hours of her singing, "she's simply the best"!
so good she sang Celine Dion in the grand final because she's literally been Celine since the blinds. This woman can sing, and her high notes are absolutely crazy. The way her husband looks at her says so much. Talented and lovable
Saying that she deserved it doesn’t even have any meaning!!! She is supposed to be great!!! When she sang The Scientist I really cried from deep within! That is not just great vocals! She is a great soul. ❤❤❤ Can’t wait for her album!!!!!
Tarryn deserved the win 🏆 Every song she sang gave me goosebumps! She was already a winner, such beautiful children and the way her husband looked at her, with all the love in his eyes. I enjoyed watching this.
Tarryn reminds me a bit of Celine Dion, an Aussie version though. Just the way she holds herself and her movements when she sings is so Celine Dion. ❤❤
TARRYN STOKES (2023) and BELLA TAYLOR SMITH (2021) are two of the best singers to emerge from The Voice competitions globally. And both are from Australia!
Don’t really like either of them and u never see them much on anything afterwards probably Carols by candlelight at best .. Anja Nissen is worlds ahead of them both
Gahhhlieee!!! The difference between day one confidence and grandfinale sassssss!!! Lisssten!!! WOWW. What a Voice! What a Woman 👏 Have all the flowers msTarryn 💐💐 Congratulations
That voice gives effortless emotion and always emotionally and technically on point! And that is why she won this competition! The perfection of both wants and needs rolled into one grace of a voice! Every note she sang spills the right emotion! What a gift! You deserved this win and more! Most of the time, the best of the best is behind someone else's shadow!😊Congratulations!🎉🍾🥂🥳
Wow, she has one of the most stunning voices I have ever heard on any talent show!! This was such a well deserved win!! I hope she has all the success in the world and becomes a huge global superstar!!!!
Am teary eyed everytime Tarryn sings, all the emotions, the story telling, the plethora of feelings in every song captivates my heart with her amazing voice...she's a star!
From the beginning, from the blind audition, I immediately thought, "she reminds me of Celine Dion. She has a voice on par and even looks like her." And so I was saying "Celine Dion Celine Dion" when Rita was about to tell her her final song. SO glad Rita clearly thought the same!
Thank you for being such an inspiration, Tarryn! I've been going through a challenging time lately. I lost my confidence when I became a mom, and in a way, I took a step back from everything. I've been navigating and processing these changes, and your empowering words mean the world to me. You truly deserve to win, Tarryn!
So I don't know how many times I've watched this. I love how Tarryn came out looking like a mom who just got up in the morning, ran her fingers through her hair, put on a little make up, put on her mom dress and tennis, took the kids to school, then ran to her audition. She looked like a real woman and just shocked the world with her voice. Hope she becomes an international star. Big fan here. Would love to see her and her husband do a couple of rock duets.
Tarryn what a deserving winner, smashed it every single performance and honestly loved every moment. Rita really knows how to bring the best out of artists.
930 pm in the USA and I never get to see the voice other than in America. I have to say that this is SO top 3 voices I've ever seen on the show!! Alison porter was our huge voice yrs ago team Xtina and now Tarryn is the new fav female winner to me!! Love Rita too ❤
Hearing Taryn sing radiates an angelic frequency that is so inspiring, it makes me want to sing and feel that anything is possible. Very powerful song choices that amplify a beautiful loving vibration. Thank you Taryn for being so authentic and for being a beacon of light🙏🏼💖💫
Oh my Gosh, I loved what you said! I feel such a powerful light in her too, such a beautiful and powerful soul. I think you're totally right and am so happy that you see and feel that in her too! ✨🎶💖🎶✨
While I was watching the Blind Auditions I literally thought to myself, "She reminds me of Celine Dion". How fitting that she sang the ultimate Celion Dion song in the grand finals and won with it. Congratulations and well deserved!
Its not Tarryns stunning voice that got me in the end, it was the moment when we just saw her belief in herself smash through during her final performance. I really couldn't hold back the tears at that moment. Its just pure star quality. So very few artists really have that. It was a privilege to see!
