Along time ago, I "learned" about how manufactured homes were built... It was built by nails... I had to remove vinyl flooring, screw down the ply and put a new floor back in.... When I built my house, I did what you are doing... To make it more "solid" I "glued" the panels to the 2x4 & 2x6 walls and used a screw in every corner.... Then the walls will never "flex"....

"Cutting holes through sheathing to trim windows & doors".... 1/4" router for about $20... (Learned about that one from a contractor friend)

They are weather resistant up to a certain period of time. This is not the final product though and we have steel panels going over this.

What r u going to do for the doorways in front, when the sonnet poles at the base encroach on the opening so much in places, R u going to jackhammer the sides or r u going to raise the floor to the top?

The concrete will go up 4” above the top of the footers so they won’t come into play at all.

I am enjoying watching your progress from England. Your relaxed you tube style is very watchable. The style of construction is however unfamiliar to me. Following on from the previous comment if the concrete is 4” above the footers how is it and associated ground moisture segregated from the timber posts rails and sheathing. I would be also interested in your proposed floor plan and maybe in future you could describe your aspirations for the homestead site in general. Best regards

Glad to hear you enjoy our videos and thanks for the kind words. As for the concrete, our posts are pressure treated so they could take the concrete no problem but we will be installing a pressure treated 2x6 interior girt on the bottom which will end up being our concrete mold basically. So no concrete will end up touching the posts. As for the exterior with the sheathing, we will be installing some tape on the bottom as well as some metal flashing to keep the ground away from the sheathing.

You are doing a ton of work. You should feel darn proud of getting all this done mostly by your self. You guys will look back when you get old and be able to tell your children and grandchildren that you built this with your own hands. Well done guys. I know it takes twice as long to video all this work. You will be thankful that you took the time to record it all. Once again your lil angel is so Precious.
