We recorded another video podcast covering some questions that may be helpful for any future or current shed hunters. We answered some common questions, gave a few tips and had a fun time talking through why Eric and Martin love shed hunting so much.

I have really enjoyed your podcasts. Both Eric and Martin have their own side chanels and after watching the podcasts I think that B Mac might be missing his calling. I have a friend and a nephew involved in the NFL so I some sport interview shows that seem to be similar to your podcasts. I would like to see B Mac start a new side chanel because he has a natural talent as a talk show host. Maybe call it Outdoors with B Mac! Just a thought but I do think that he is a better host than Joe R. Thank you guys for what you do. Stay healthy and happy.

Shed hunting food for me is definitely not the healthiest but honestly I think everything from that day gets burned off. This year I lost 10 pounds in 3 days.. not being dehydrated or going hungry.

I have been packing sheds home for over 40 years now. Loved them from day 1. For the last 10 years I have thought it would be cool to put out a coffee table book full of pictures from years of shed hunting and have chapters and chapters describing what you just talked about. How to find sheds. There are so many layers to it. I don't know if a book like that would sell but it would be really fun to make.

That is for all of the great amazing advice. One question I have that I would like to know is Eric was on if ig the other day and mentioned like asking us if we would like a cookbook, I was wondering like if you guys would actually maybe do that. I know my dad and I have been talking about getting one if you guys did come up with one. I am loving all the cooking videos on RU-vid but I think a cookbook would be pretty neat. Just really interested in a cookbook now. Thanks boys, keep up the great work and stay healthy.

A giant factor in this is the land you hit. I can only dream of getting into some area that you guys hit! Where you have to leave stuff because there is simply to much to pack out! That amazes me! But, regardless I'd say the 8-10 mile average sounds about right! Love the podcasts guys!

I think that because you guys have such a big following, you should address the topic of being ethical in the mountains. Too many guys getting out there and pushing them all over hell & running them off their winter range when their energy reserves are already depleted. I grew up in Western Wyoming and was finding antlers in the 80s and 90s way before social media has overexploited the entire Mountain West. Back in those days you could get out there and not see another soul & see true herds of big game. After going into the Marine Corps I was out of the area for 20 years and just moved back five years ago. It's so far from what it used to be that it's disheartening. Literally everybody and their dog out there in the heart of Winter pushing these animals off their winter range. I miss the days of being in the mountains and seeing true herds, big bucks and bulls. You honestly just do not see it anymore. It is all over exploited and it is unfortunate. Utah is a different beast and is basically becoming the redheaded stepchild of California. I'm not trying to hate on you guys, because I enjoy being in the mountains just as much as the next guy - especially after being out of the area for 20 years. However, it is disheartening to see what is happening to our big game herds out here in the West in general fall & winter. I go to the same areas that I went to as a kid and it's definitely not the same. Not even close. If something isn't done and it's not managed properly it will all be something of the past. Idaho's greatest Mule Deer are already basically something of the past in my opinion. Wyoming is only slightly better. I think many of their true Dandy's are also disappearing. Fish and Game acts like it's a big mystery why our mule deer are disappearing. It's not rocket science. With technology, social media, long range setups, etc. Guys who think they are snipers and play too much Call of Duty. It all attributes to the thinning of our amazing Big Game animals in the West. It would be nice to see people like you who have a following to educate people. Discuss this with your audience and bring up the subject of ethics in the mountains. You can be in the mountains and do it properly where you're not spooking and jumping up game on their winter ranges. Especially when they are already drained and have very little reserves. These animals are just trying to survive harsh winters. They deserve a fighting chance. I don't blame Western Wyoming for making May 1st the deadline on shed hunting. I also don't blame them for wanting to keep out other people (out of staters) from invading the State on May 1st. Idaho is so confusing with their shed rules, I don't even think the Game Wardens - Fish & Game know how to manage their own rules. They need to start making examples of people like they did in Jackson for poachers that get out prior to the start date. It was amazing back in the day to be out in the mountains. Peace and serenity. You try to get out and enjoy that now.....at least in Eastern Idaho and you'll see motorized vehicles, people, dogs etc. I've never really followed you guys, I don't really follow anything. However, this video popped up for some reason and I think because of your following you could touch on some of these subjects and be big advocates for Big Game conservation. It would be nice to know if you guys can put some kind of podcasts out there in regards to this.

Excellent episode. Super informative, especially for western-dwelling folk. Would love to have heard you guys talk more about the ethics of shed hunting. Being a good steward of the land, avoiding "bumping" or stressing wildlife, never going off trail in a vehicle, and always, ALWAYS picking up other people's trash when you find it.

Hey guys I’m looking at buying the weatherby 6.5-300 magnum and am curious to what your guy’s opinion is on that round for shooting deer, and elk with it and how it really preforms some feed back would be nice thanks guys.

You guys should do a topic on your hunting gear. Like what are the best pieces of gear you have versus things you dont neccesarily need but take anyways.....that kind of stuff.

Yea, we just noticed this as well. Not sure why RU-vid put so many up on this particular video. Generally speaking there are only a few which are pretty tolerable. This seems really strange. Our apologies...we don't manually place these ads, RU-vid does it automatically.
