शीला वाज के बारे में एक याद. पचास साल के दशक में मुंबई में एक फिल्म प्रदर्शित हुई थी 'बेगुनाह' जो एक हफ्ता चलने के बाद बैन होने के कारण सिनेमाघरोंसे उतारी गई. यह फिल्म अन्य किसी भी शहर में प्रदर्शित नहीं हुई थी. इस फिल्म का केवल एकही छायाचित्र मैं ने देखा है जिस में सफेद सुट पहने हुए खुबसूरत संगीतकार जयकिशन पियानो बजा रहे है और शीला वाज नृत्य की मुद्रा में है. गीत के बोल मुझे याद नही है. शायद इस फिल्म के निर्माता महीपतराय शाह थे और फिल्म की कहानी आय. एस. जोहर ने एक अंग्रेजी फिल्म पर सही सही हाथ मारकर लिखी थी. उस अंग्रेजी फिल्म के निर्माता कोर्ट में गये, चोरी साबित हुई और फिल्म पत्रिकाओं के अनुसार फिल्म की सभी प्रिंटस् जलायी गई.

Leke Pehala,Pehala Pyar, Bhar Ke Aankhon Mein Qhoomar, Jadoo Nagri Se Aaya Hai Koi, Jadugar",from Guru Dutt's C.I.D.(1956) & "Ramayya Vasta Vayyia-2, Maine Dil Tujhko Diya-2",from Raj Kapoor's"Shree 420"(1955).Both,the films proved super-duper hits at the Box-office Collections! I can't imagine how the best (BEST) of Sheila Vaz's dance numbers is so little known...I'm talking about "Dum hai baqi toh gham nahi" from House No 44. It remains my favourite solo dance performance from Hindi cinema. The sympathy between plot, music, lyrics, camera, dance and acting is simply dramatic genius. Must watch.

Guru Dutts, CID, was a blockbuster. It's song, "O leke pehla" Was a hit parade of the film. The song was the creation of three rebellions. Music director, OP;singer Shamshad Begum and Sheela dancer. These artists did not came from the respective background, but rebelled because they were born with traits and made this song memoriable forever.
