This is my favorite Bond song. I was 11 years old, the song was a big hit AND we were all in love with Sheena.

Sheena Easton is my original Diva. Her voice is just heavenly. Unfortunately, she was not given full recognition and probably some song choices were not up to par. Thankfully, the Bond producers in this case recognized that clear, crisp and majestic voice that only angels can compare! Her bond song is amongst the best theme ever created for the franchise!

this was actually one of the biggest Bond theme hits in america. I believe it reached #4 on billboard charts. she went through various stages from a very humble girl next door to one of Prince's sexy diva girls with the raunchy Sugar walls hit.

Sheena was in a few excellent episodes of Miami Vice playing Sonny’s wife I believe with a tragic ending , such a great show! Thanks Angela!

This is still my favorite Bond song of all time. There's just something unique and transcending about Sheena Easton's voice to make the song so iconic.

Amazing to think that Sheena might still be singing on the Glasgow club circuit if her profile hadn't had a massive boost from a British TV series called "The Big Time" - it wasn't a talent contest but more a documentary which featured her efforts to get a record deal. I remember being amazed at the clarity of her voice and her sassy determination to succeed - glad she 'made it'.

Woah forgot all about this song, and I saw this in the theater as a kid. Duran Duran's View to a Kill with the into of the movie imo is the best bond song.

Sheena Easton was a sort of reality TV music find before reality TV existed. In 1979 she was in a BBC TV Programme called The Big Time and it was all about her trying to get a record contract - which obviously she did. Her breakthrough was 9 to 5 (Morning Train) which was not a remake of the Dolly Parton hit.

Fun fact: 'For Your Eyes Only' was supposed to be Timothy Dalton's first Bond film but Roger Moore decided to stay on and was still within contract. During the first part with her arm-waving, the close-up of Roger Moore's face was kept in after it had been directored to be a close-up of Dalton's rare teal eyes as an introduction.

a short story... when i was in highschool there was a massive poster of Sheena Easton on the wall....the spiky black hair, red lipstick...blue eyeshadow.... i truly think that this was the first woman i fell in love with!... oh my word... and yes, it was for her eyes only...

The visuals were all for the opening credits of the film, minus all of the credits. I never saw this video, so I really liked that. Sheena Easton was the first and (so far) the only artist who appears in the opening credits of a Bond film, which always uses imagery that works for the film. From this...Bond goes underwater a few times. I would also suggest the Bond themes: "A View To A Kill" by Duran Duran, "We Have All The Time In The World" by Louis Armstrong (from 'On Her Majesty's Secret Service', but it also ends 'No Time To Die', the last Daniel Craig Bond film), "Live And Let Die" by Paul McCartney and Wings, "Thunderball" by Tom Jones, "You Know My Name" by Chris Cornell (from 'Casino Royale'), and "Skyfall" by Adele.

I'd probably agree with your rating. What I'd say about You only Live Twice tho, is that from memory, parts of the orchestral music is used as kinda mood music too (without any singing) a couple of times in the movie. So it kinda has a dual role.

That title was ready-made to become a song in which a Bond girl describes herself in the terms of a secret dossier.

During the run of Bond movies landing the opening song was like getting a Super Bowl halftime gig. This one drew mixed reviews, but I really like it.

Don't forget Shirley Basseys other 2 iconic bond songs, Diamonds are Forever and Moonraker. There's also one stunning bond song that a lot of bond fans even forget which was originally supposed to be the title song to Thunerball but ended up just being used in the film, written by John Barry(legend in movies) and sung by Dionne Warwick(Whitney Houstons Aunt) called Mr Kiss Kiss Bang Bang.

Bright Eyes sung by Art Garfunkel is a fantastic but very sad song especially when associated with Watership Down the film that scarred and scared many kids
