In Navajo country (United States), we generally singe the hair off of the sheep head skin over an open fire - I think doing so adds a lot of flavor to the end-product. We typically do not add all the spices but I am cooking a sheep head for dinner today & I tried your version. We tend to eat every piece of the sheep head as well. Thanks for the class.
Back in '06, we used to get them with a stack of tortillas, cups of onion, cilantro and limes for $5.50 in Pomona Ca. We would spread plastic from the wheels over the desk at our wheel shop and get a 12 pack of Cokes every Saturday and GRUB. They braised them overnight. Also, the pupil is better in the trash.
Well done boys. I had the lamb head during my last trip to Morocco, and it was a true delicacy mixed with such Moroccan spices, and it was slow cooked in a clay pot. What a delicious meat.
Here in Mongolia, we’ve been eating sheep heads throughout our existence. But as far as I know, I’ve always had it boiled. Thanks for the great recipe/technic, just put one in the oven. Let’s see how it works out 👍🥂
Thank you so much for the comment. So happy to hear you enjoyed the Sheeps head. This was a real treat for me and can honestly tell you that you cant go wrong with the head in the oven. Enjoy hey... 🔥🔥🔥😎👍
I laughed so hard watching your brother inlaw's first reaction and then followed by the neighbor's, lol. Thanks for the recipe , I've never thought of roasting a sheep head before so thank you. I'm subscribing...
Hahaha awesome so happy that you enjoyed the video. Thats great. Yes this dish was really amazing and so much more than what I thought would be. Thank you for your support and stay safe man. 🔥🔥👍
Hi there, awesome. It should simmer for about 2 to 3 Hours. It will be different to ours but still delicious. You can add your spices to your boiling water. Alternatively you can use your kitchen oven if you have one and do what we did in the oven. Stay safe 🔥🔥👍
3 hours is typically the cooking time for tough cuts of meat. Then let it sit off the heat for about an hour or 2 to let the flavor build up a little bit more.
That's absolutely amazing mmm yum yum thank you xman&co ur team was tops in that video cook something Easter would love to see you make a top braai warthog or a a lovely dish cheers guys I love what yourl doing your to good ♥️💯😎
@@rohanndutoit4544. Hi Bud. To be perfectly honest, the missus wants none of that. Can't blame her though, because in spite of having all the braai and smoking equipment at hand, I must confess.. I'm a lousy cook. As we say in Cape Town: "Ek het die regte gedagte, maar ek gebruik dit verkeerd" . I did smoke them on the offset smoker and it came out good for a change, however the missus is adamant that she must cook it beforehand for the weber and I will have none of that either. So unfortunately it's a stalemate😱😱. I don't want to end up in the divorce court... Again😔😔😂😂😂
at 5:36 theres a monkey scaling the electric fence ^^ only here is SA bru XD On another note, Im braaing my first ever sheep head this long weekend with my hubby, going to do this recipe, thank you so much for all the advice
Hi Deon, baie dankie. Jy kan by Grobbies slaghuis so n kop kry in die Bluff. Ek weet Westville Noord slaghuis kan jou ook daarmee help. Baie dankie vir jou support meneer. 🔥🔥🔥👍
This is Okay if you have the equipment they used. I have to agree with Sam that ever bit of the sheep/goat/lamb head should be eaten. This a traditional dish for weddings in both Mexico and Italy, but probably in other countries as well. The teeth should always be shown. I also agree that the cheek meat is the best, but you can enjoy the brains as well. It is very 'macho' to also eat the eyeballs , but be careful you don't burn your mouth as I did before a sales presentation once. How do tell the participants how you burned your mouth?
I know I just said I love lamb in my last video, but here in the USA we are a little too squeamish to eat the head or that eye like you guys! I'm sure it's all delicious, but you can have it :-)
@@XmanCo it wasn't really a criticism of them as individuals.... more an observation/generalization of SA 'culture'. Anyhow you were enthusiastic and I liked seeing the whole process from start to....finish. I've always been curious about skip. Thanks. Good camera work too, btw.😄
Thanks for your comment. We love animals as we are an animal cooking channel. In future try to skip the meaty cooking channels so you dont have to go through all the trauma...Have a nice day...
