I am a Bangadeshi. For the first time, I saw a Pakistani speaking about Mujib with the respect he deserves. Thank you 💖🇧🇩 He fought for Bengali rights in his later years. But he sacrificed a lot for your country too. At least he doesn't deserve to be called a traitor. Bengalis themselves wanted separation bcz of the discrimination and rascism they faced. Bengalis are not fools.

I have been to Bangladesh, travelled a lot and met with a number of people from all social strata. I found them soft and simpl and very committed nation by nature. I did realize as a West Pakistani that it must have been outrageously horrible treatment that we gave to my Bangla brothers to take them to that extreme. Sheikh Mujeeb was a soldier of Muhammad Fatima Jinah against Murderer Traitor Mir Jafer Ayub Khan.... We are Sorry my Bangla Brothers n Sisters.....

I would like to say sorry to Bangladeshis for what West Pakistani generals and politicians did to their ancestors. I would address following points to my fellow Pakistanis and Bangladeshis: 1- Separation of Bangladesh happened due to long dictatorship rule of Ayub, Yahya and Bhutto's greed of power. It was same colonial mindset which British left. 2- Jinnah never wanted partition of India. He wanted dominion or confederation status of two Muslim India(West Pakistan and Bangal) and a single Hindu India. 3- Bengal was the main hub of Muslim league and Pakistan struggle and had strong Muslim league support. West Pakistan did little less in separation struggle. Bangal was the core epicentre of separation. In fact Bengalis did this many times in history. First when they separated them from Mughal empire then they divided Bengal into East and West in 1905. Then they divided British India into Pakistan and India and then again divided Pakistan in 1970s. East Bengalis were always rebellious. 4- Regarding Bangal's urdu-bangali controversy, it is the mistake of Bangalis as Bangali was not spoken in any of the part of West Pakistan. What Bangalis claimed for Bengali language can also be raised by Punjab, Sindh, Baluchistan etc (e.g Punjabi to be national language or pushto to be national language etc). Hence urdu or Hindi or any former language like Spanish, Persian etc was a wise decision but Bengali nationalism come in the way. Also Jinnah was not a Urdu speaker but a Englishman and a Gujarati. 5- Events in East Pakistan and operation searchlight was not known to general public of West Pakistan as everything was censored by long dictatorship regime and state owned control of radio and media. State media just told that India has interfered in East Pakistan etc. Otherwise operation would be halted because of public pressure. General Ayub also finished and disbanded every political party including Muslim league during his dictatorship regime. This caused a democratic vacuum. 6- Bhutto should have given the utmost right to Mujeeb as he was rightly having majority. 7- Single Pakistan was never into the plan by Muslim league. It is evident from Jinnah's acceptance of Cabinet mission plan A which Congress rejected it and was last nail in the coffin for partition. It was British and Congress which forced Jinnah in the end to accept one country and that too also with division of Punjab and Bangal. 8. Muslim league was never a disciplined party unlike congress. Hence after the death of M. Ali Jinnah, Muslim league started facing a deadly political vacuum. 9. Greedy bureaucracy, long political instability in Pakistan and then the long dictatorship rule were the main cause of weakened governance system and policies. This caused economic disparity in East Pakistan especially in general Ayub's era which is another major cause of separation of East Pakistan. 10- It was literally much difficult to control both parts of Pakistan with a strong federal system as both parts have no physical borders. It was always going to be hard on resources due to hostile neighbour. Thus it was better to have a confederation, weak centre or a separate states. 11- Pakistan failed to conduct general elections for 23 years since its existence. The first general election done was in 1970 which unfortunately formed the basis of separation of East Pakistan. Edit: Now it's a new era. Let us forget the past and move on for good. History will remain history. Nor the present generations of British or anyothers can't be blamed for what their ancestors or small group of power hungry people did. Lets move forward just like Japan and US or France and Great Britain after many wars.

There was another thing. In 1947,Sylhet was the only area of Indian Subcontinent who was allowed to vote whether to join India or Pakistan. Sheikh Mujibur Rahman played a vital role in this campaign. His working area was Karimganj District which voted in favor of Pakistan by 50.44%. But later this district was exchanged with Moulvibazar District which hurt Mujib's feelings because he had lost despite winning. He mentioned this in his bood "The unfinished memories".

What Pakistan Army did in Bengal is the same thing they are doing in Balochistan.They have turned patriotic people into enemies of the state for the simple crime of protecting their rights and speaking out against military rule. It is not too late for Balochistan. Nowadays most Pakistanis have started to understand this and are against military interference in civil matters. Hopefully one days we'll be able to gain out true independence from these people.

My father served in East Pakistan for 4 years, he had very fond memories of Bengalis and he used to praise them. im 1990s, one of his old friends visited us in Paksitan from Bangladesh.

Very glad to hear the true prespective of separation of East Pakistan from West. Incompetent and politically motivated General Ayub Khan was the principle culprit. This institution did not learnt any lesson from their past and doing the same practices today.

During our education, we, the Pakistani students, go through the 1940 Lahore Resolution many times and learn it by heart. We are used to writing long notes on it in the Pakistan Studies exam to get full marks. And all of us know that the word used there is "states". And "states" means "states". It is no wrong interpretation. We, the Pakistanis, know very well that the name Pakistan came from the letters of Punjab, Afghan province (NWFP at that time), Kashmir, Sindh, and BalochisTAN. It symbolizes the northwestern Muslim majority units of the sub-continent. It should not have been thrown upon the Bengalis... They had the right to call their land Bangladesh or anything else for that matter... The British created a united Pakistan, but I think the responsibility lied with the political leadership after that. They should have separated these two states as soon as possible, according to the 1940 Lahore resolution. Anyway, I believe that the responsibility still lies with us i.e. with Pakistan to develop a better relationship between the two countries. For this, steps need to be taken on the highest level. It must be admitted, on the highest level, that the political leadership of West Pakistan showed a lack of political acumen and made grave mistakes.

When I saw some videos of Mujeeb I realized that Mujeeb was an honest and Pakistan loving citizen but our establishment narrated wrong story about him to the nation as the present establishment is doing now with Imran Khan. My image about army generals is totally changed. Our few generals are not honest for our country although the oath taken by them. It's so heartbreaking... These corrupt personalities be in army in politics or in other system should be punished timely... Anyways nature doesn't leave them, they die a pitiful death and leave a remorseful life.... بنگالی اردو جانتے تھے۔ پاکستان میں بسنے والے سندھی، بلوچی, پنجابی، پٹھان اور تمام دیگر زبانیں بولبے والے لوگ بھی اردو جانتے تھے۔ اردو ہندوستان کے کسی مخصوص علاقے کی زبان نہیں تھی۔ ہندی کی طرح پورے ہندوستان کی زبان تھی۔ ہر جگہ بولی اور سمجھی جاتی تھی۔ جب کہ بنگالی متحدہ پاکستان کے ایک حصہ کی زبان تھی۔ اس لیئے اگر بنگالی کو پاکستان کی قومی زبان بنایا جاتا تو پھر کم از کم چار اور بڑی زبانیں بھی اس کی حقدار ہوتیں۔ تحریکِ پاکستان کے اکثر بڑے راہنما اردو بولنے والے نہیں تھے۔ مگر اردو کے قومی زبان ہونے پر انہیں کوئی مسلہ نہیں تھا۔ اس میں مشرقی پاکستان کے بنگالی بولنے والے بڑے لیڈرز بھی شامل تھے۔ پہلا اعتراض شیخ مجیب الرحمان صاحب اور ان کے کچھ ساتھیوں کو پیدا ہوا۔ اس کے بعد دیگر بڑے چھوٹے علاقوں کو بھی اعتراضات پیدا ہوئے۔ مگر اس بات پر موجودہ پاکستان کے لوگوں کو سلام ہے کہ گزشتہ چند دہائیوں تک اردو بولنے والوں کے نام پر بنی سیاسی تنظیم کے پاکستان کے خلاف اقدامات اور نظریات کے کھل کر منظرِ عام پر آنے اور اس کے دہشت گرد ملک دشمن حصہ پر ہابندی لگنے کے باوجود کسی اور پاکستانی نے اردو کے خلاف یا اس سے بڑھ کر اپنی زبان کے خق میں بات نہیں کی۔ جنہوں نے کی، ان کو شاید انگلیوں پر گننے کے قابل ہی تائید ملی۔ اور ان لوگوں کو بھی سلام ہے کہ جن کی مادری زبان تو اردو تھی مگر اس تنظیم کی حقیقت کھلتے ہی سب نے اس غدّار حصہ سے لاتعلقی احتیار کر لی۔ اس کو کہتے ہیں ملک سے محبّت، مخلصی، بھائی چارا، اپنے آپ سے بڑھ کر بھائی کا خیال کرنا۔ یہ سب جو محترم شیخ مجیب الرحمان صاحب اور ان کے ساتھیوں نے کیا۔ یہ پاکستان سے ہی نہیں، اللّٰلہ تعالیٰ اور اس کے نبی خاتم ال انبیا، محمّد مصطفیٰ صل للّٰلہ علیہ و سلم سے بھی غدّاری تھی۔ ایک اور بات، پاکستان کے غدّار کو سزا اللّٰلہ تعالیٰ اسی کے ساتھوں کی غدّاری کی صورت میں دنیا ہی میں دیتے ہیں۔ مسٹر ذلفقار علی بھٹّو، مسز اندرا گاندھی اور محترم شیخ مجیب ال رحمان۔ سب اپنے قابلِ اعتماد ساتھیوں کے ہاتھوں ہی مارے گئے۔ صاحبِ نظر کے لیئے عبرت کا مقام بھی ہے اور صاحبِ عقل و شعور کے لیئے نصیحت۔ مگر نا سمجھ تو برائی کو برائی سمجھنے کے باوجود بھی نادم نہیں ہوتے اور مسلسل اپنی ڈھٹائی پر اڑے رہتے ہیں۔
