Biography cum documentary on the life of Sheikh-ul-Alam(r.a) in Kashmiri with English subtitles
Nund Resh 1375 - c. 1438 AD; also known as Sheikh Noor-ud-Din Noorani(r.a), Sheikh-Ul-Alam (spiritual guide of the world) and by the title Alamdar-e-Kashmir ("Flag Bearer of Kashmir"), was a Kashmiri saint, mystic, poet and Islamic preacher. . He influenced many spiritual teachers and saints, including Hamza Makhdoom, Resh Mir Sàeb, and Shamas Faqir.
Sheikh-ul-Alam(r.a) travelled the entire Kashmir and preached to the people. The sayings of Sheikh-ul-Alam(r.a) are termed the Shruks.
It is called so, for the sayings of Sheikh-ul-Alam(r.a) have multiple meanings and explanations. It is said that Sheikh-ul-Alam(r.a) preached Quran to the Kashmiri people via these Shruks. And in his last years, it is said that wherever Sheikh-ul-Alam(r.a) travelled, he would plant trees.
Finally, he passed away in 1438(most accepted)
And the King of that time Zain-ul-Aabideen(Budshah) participated in his funeral.
He is buried in Charar-i-Sharief Budgam.
The international airport of Srinagar was renamed to Sheikh-ul-Alam(r.a) international airport in 2005.
