Powerful! Man that felt good. Organic. Authentic. Made me feel like I was a kid again listening to real musicianship. It’s kinda funny how we took having DeBarge, Switch, Prince, Chaka, MJ, Shalamar etc. on the radio on the regular for granted. Sounds and feelings through music that will never be replaced. Turn the Page, Love Always, Love Me in a Special Way, All This Love -- so many more. Yet, El does not get enough credit for being a high-level musician (keys, bass, and occasional drummer). He can self-record and produce, and I appreciate Shiela E for letting this huge talent get some notice. El - new album. He can produce himself -- and of course put Shiela on the skins.

Yooooo!!! I was a kid when El was in his prime! Totally a song unsung in my generation. Jazz with a little church mixed. This is what playing in the pocket sounds like! First of all, El DeBarge is my homeboy from Michigan and his uncle (Mr. Abney) was the chef that taught me how to cook and got me certified. Now having said that, I want to tip my hat to the bass player who just killed that Bottom on each groove, and to El who was soooooooo brilliant with that keyboard and that amazing voice GOD blessed him with. I saved the best for last, which is as a bass player and band leader myself, I only WISH I could find a way to get Sheila E. to play drums on our upcoming debut album. There could be no greater honor than to have the orginal BeatMaster herself holding down that beat on Zone Seven's debut record. (Hint-Hint). Anyway, thank you, Sheila for being the great person and outstanding artist that you are, and for bringing the best music program in the world to us here in this forum. Much love

A couple of things: 1. This trio could definitely be a working band. 2. The way the two cymbals over the kit's rack toms are tightened as to be almost immovable is giving me anxiety.
