Haha this movie wasn’t very good but this song is iconic!! It became one of the first big item songs that really hyped Katrina up and made her super popular! It’s definitely a favorite song for indian college girls to jam out to LOL

This song was like the Despacito of those times, it was kinda awkward for kids to grove to this song but we used to love it anyway. It was so catchy and the lyrics were so "naughty", people instantly liked it and the song was an instant hit. The movie was a huge flop but its earnings were mostly due to this song, and that is when the directors of the Indian film industry noticed the importance of the "item song". Before this film, people would consider such lyrics and dancing visuals slightly dirty, but after this song came out, people loved it soo much, that, the directors started exploiting this new trend and we started having more and more of such "item songs", with more dirty pole dancers and suggestive lyrics. This song was the beginning of the revolution that changed the industry in a big way and it showed exactly what the people wanted. Anyways, loved the surprising reactions guys, I remember my dad covering my ears when I was a kid listening to the radio.

Ok guys, let me explain this song. So basically, jokes apart, of course everyone will think that Sheila is conceited for the first time that you see this, but this, was an absolute revolution in the "item songs" of the bollywood industry. It kinda potrayed 'sexy confidence, like, I'm sexy and I know it' to an extreme. What I find good about it is, unlike most item songs, where a woman is objectified, or she's insecure, this was def a revolution as here, the woman was in control, she knew what she was doing and had everyone rapped around her finger. Which was the first time, women were portrayed powerful in item songs, where they earlier used to be a matter of 'use and throw' which was disgusting. Here she played hard to get, but this was just SELF LOVE to the very extreme and tbh, I love it (if you see it in the context of that time and situation of the cinema that time). This might seem a bit extreme, but sensitivity to something doesn't come that early, and hence it exaggerated this point. Whenever I see this music video, all I think about is, she slayed so hard, and the queen ate, left no crumbs. So if you take this song in the right context, then it might not seem as bad. Item songs are not bad, the women in the item songs aren't either, this is just work and it needs to be normalized. Another item song that I respect is "ooantava." Y'all can go check it's lyrics and the song too if interested :)
